Was at the stage of being assigned Gem's first photo shoot. This requires the player to request a camera from Celeste (pretty sure at some point I mentioned an offshoot of this current problem). Anyway, of course Celeste demands that the player not only asks for the camera, but that he also type the word "please".
I could argue that this is for a client, and so if the player refuses to say please, Celeste would still go and buy the camera. She might punish the player in some other way, but refusing to buy the camera ultimately hurts the hotel's reputation (as the client doesn't get what they want). So she wouldn't do it this way. That's a side argument though, and it really doesn't bother me that much how it currently is.
That said, the real problem isn't in what needs to be done, but in a lack of continued player feedback. If a player happens to not read the paragraph closely enough (like me having done it before and so at best skimming text I've been through before), I can completely miss/forget to ever type the word please. I continue playing the game. Whenever I realize that the camera never showed up (that I don't have one, whatever), I then likely go back to Celeste and ask her about the camera (thinking either that I forgot to ever ask her, or that there was some other step she still needs [assuming I am not stuck even earlier and didn't realize Frey told me I needed to ask Celeste... but that's another issue all together]). So I'm back at Celeste and ask her about the camera again. I'm simply told that, "You have already asked her about that." So now I am stuck. I have no way to proceed with the game at all.
(Yes, if I didn't save/quit at some point I can possibly endlessly scroll through the entire transcript of the game and hope to find where I went wrong. Or, yes, I can possibly search through the forum and look for a walkthrough. While these both have the potential to work, they aren't fun, nor part of playing the game.)
Long story short, Celeste's follow-up comments need to continue telling the player to say "please", or the camera needs to arrive anyway (with some non-permanent punishment, such as garnished wages for a few days or whatever).
