5 kept looping, so used the code for 6 to move past. Then that one kept looping so couldn't get past it. Eventually tried putting in the code that it gives, but that didn't help (hoped maybe that would flip a trigger variable somewhere).

As for entering codes to move ahead in gameplay, I'd suggest maybe testing variable values rather than just blindly replacing. We can use the cheater ball to change things, so it isn't a major problem. Simply thinking just because X is the minimum value when something can happen doesn't mean I'm not well above that when it actually does happen. Plenty of times codes actually lower some of my values (for instance I could have worked a lot and have 2000 euros, enter a code, suddenly I only have 500 euros). Would be nice if I got the better of the default or my current value instead of automatically the default.

En fait, je pensait plus à ce que j'ai vu dans un jeu russe au format QSP :
* tu as une liste de chaine de caractère pour chaque langue (ex : fr[], en[]). pour un index donné, chaque liste contient le même texte traduit dans différentes langues. Lors de la sélection de la langue.
* dans le reste du code, tu utilise une liste de chaine de caractère générique (ex : txt[])
* quand l'utilisateur change de langue, tu fait pointer ta liste générique sur la tard voulue (txt[] <- fr[] ou txt[] <- en[]).
Comme ça t'as juste a exporter la liste de caractère à traduire (ex fr[]) et importer les traduction (en[], etc...).

Have had this happen to me as well on multiple occasions. That said, I've never reliably recreated it, so never mentioned it (just commenting to say it isn't only Skelaturi that has had this problem).
