Have you read the tome and talked to Scruffy about it?
If so you should have an event during the evening in the basement.
Out of curiosity what does "check display" say?

I have reead the tome and talked about it with scruffy (at least it tells me I have already talked wit him about tome when I try to do it again) but nothing happens in the basement in the evening. Am I missing something else ?

That is weird.

You should get an event when you enter the basement hallway after 21.
Try a couple days in a row. Sometimes adrift is weird about triggers like that.
If that does not help I would need to take a look at your save.

I have the exact same issue. Check display is empty. When i opened my old save with this game, the save started essentially as if i had just recieved the tome, even though i had already read it. Maybe that's related to this now.

Uploaded a small patch with a possible fix for the save bug that some users might have.
It should allow you to continue with the janitor path and get to the end.

I hope it does not break a bunch of other stuff

I'll have to check again, but I don't think getting started with Scruffy by buying the laptop comes up in the task list. Maybe it does after you get the 'employment' picture show from Celeste, where she tells you Scruffy can upgrade your room, if you haven't already bought it. Anyway, after buying/placing the laptop, 'use the laptop' came up in the task list. After using it the first time, nothing in the task list indicated you should continue to do so until after using the laptop a second time. Then, continuing to use the laptop shows up in the task list at least up to and through the first Frey 'porn reward'.

I'll download the new beta and start over when I get a chance. BTW, it took me a couple reads to find the 'check display' command. Maybe you should add something to the badge description about badge features that you currently have unlocked, like check display and upload pictures, etc?

Ok, I apologize for display confusion on my part. I thought it was a facet/function of the badge. I finally got around to reading the examination text for the player's own uniform to see that it's part of the uniform jacket. I can now assume that when you share pictures,they're being shown on your wrist display. Nicely done.

The command 'x display' gives you the same result as 'check display' and it probably shouldn't. It should instead give a description of the display, and this is where any repeatable or specialized commands for the badge/display functionality would appear. Also, I think I've mentioned this before in this thread, but being able to go back and review the pictures the badge takes would be nice (I want to keep going back and reviewing the sex session with Frey over and over...) if it's possible.

Regarding replaying scenes or watch pictures, it is something I have been looking at. The scenes in the game at the moment are not set up for being run again as it stands. It would take a pretty big rewrite/code change to allow this. Just having completed a weeks work of coding on the task list, I am not sure I have it in me right now. It could be added in a future gold edition maybe.
From a lore perspective the uniform only records when you have it equipped (so not during sex scenes).

Going from the lore standpoint it could be possible to check any pictures you have uploaded to either a client or scruffy. These would be more in the striptease/sexy category. This is a spoiler feature so no info as of yet.

I was afraid that would be the case. It wasn't something that I believe should take priority over anything. Just a feature wish on my part.

The only task remaining I have to do is to pay for the club bill. I have the money required but can't seem to give it to Celeste, that would mean I got to go further in the game?
I also read the tome and gave my impressions about it to Scruffy but nothing more happens yet even in the basement.
I've finished my cooking lessons with Morgan and impressed Zoe with the new meal, she said like it's great and would give me some sort of reward but she's just still sleeping in my bed at 17'.
When I go to the studio, I meet Gem and Angela but nothing triggers here.

Ohh. I made a mistake in 0.55c. Have added 0.55d to the frontpage.
I blocked starlet path off a step too soon.
It does not block any other progress.
0.55d fixes these.

Regarding your progress.

Morgans path seems to be your way forward. Getting close. Still some stuff left.
