ut1stgear1 wrote:have run into a bottleneck. There's a walkthrough on Play Force One but it is missing a point for Emily at least that prevents even getting "Emily Corruption". I know early on I saw the choice "I don't know why but that is hot" in the bathroom. The walkthrough is 1 point short of having the 36 pts so no matter how I do it I end up with GET OUT message. Can't remember how I got there that one time. walkthrough is too long to post but I have it in a Word Pad file. Any help on where the points are would be appreciated. I counted each point and it only hits 35. I found 1 pt in the office that it missed but added it to my copy.
edit I wonder if the walkthrough has a wrong selection in it. Not sure how to troubleshoot it and too tired to try today.
Just as a word of advice, this game is very complex, and most people who create quick walkthroughs only list the selections that they think are important at the time. Once we get about halfway through Season 2, relying on walkthroughs, you will need a minimum of 70 distinct walkthroughs to see everything. By everything, I mean all the positive endings, but you'd be missing out on some fun negative endings as well. Also, there are very few paths where the statement "Take the standard office" path or "Take the standard Bar path" will apply. In fact, assume that there is never a standard path through a scene that covers multiple outcomes. Over time, and playthroughs, the game will tell you how to reach each ending. A few pages ago there was a discussion on elite paths that may help out a bit as well.
On the topic of walkthroughs, if that's how folks enjoy the game, I have no problem with it. I think some people actually enjoy making walkthroughs more than playing the games.

Three things to keep in mind about walkthroughs though:
1. The game was designed to give all the information you need to find every path without the need for trial and error, just keep in mind that some of that information isn't available yet. Even failure paths may not necessarily tell you what went wrong on that particular path, but they may give you information that will help you on completely different paths by granting additional insight to characters or situations occurring in the game. In later scenes, characters will chat, react, or reminisce about earlier scenes giving clues on how to find missing paths. Also, the end of day recaps will give additional information as well.
2. Using a walkthrough will break the story immersion as focus shifts to the walkthrough instead of the characters. This could break a large amount of the story experience....although I understand that some folks aren't interested in the story and just want to "get to the good stuff."

Additionally, it could cause you to miss important information about paths that don't have walkthoughs yet.
3. Make sure the walkthroughs include ABSOLUTELY EVERY selection. Most that I've seen are leaving out important elements that will either cause the situation ut1stgear1 is describing, and/or cause problems in later scenes.
While not "officially" sanctioned, ExLibris is a playtester from essentially day 1 (When she sent a huge list of spelling errors and broken links on my first Proof Of Concept post in the projects forum). I would consider these the most reliable and most thorough walkthroughs.
