Dear Lagooners!

To celebrate my 250th post in this forum, I have prepared a small present for all the past (and passed) victims of my words: Étude sur Ariane (Op. 1,1) --- the dessert after lunch, to pass your time until the upcoming UP17. (Arnulf, hear that?)

Usage
[*]Download the file from the link above
[*]Unzip the file and copy it into the directory tree of ArianeB 5.8, into the top most folder where you find "index.htm" and "readme.txt".
[*]Start it and Enjoy!
[*]Be creative, hack the sources and work your way through --- there are plenty of pictures, and many stories can be told with them. Also have a look at the internationalization feature. Currently english and german are available, and it is easy to add your own language.

Have fun!

... and I wonder who will be the first to publish a walkthrough ...

LRM, I suppose that before getting a photo of Cloé, I have at least to surpass Arnulf --- which is quite impossible. You know these fairy tales where a prince has to fulfil a lot of impossible tasks before getting the princess. And if the tasks are not known, well than the impossibility of solving these gets exponential

Hello, I'm looking for a little help. I've looked through the posts in this thread (at least most of those recent enough to apply to version 5.8) but I no luck so far.

I've looked at a bunch of the images in the download version and it APPEARS that there are some entertaining possibilities in store with Rebecca, but I get stuck in the lingerie selection and can almost never make it to the checkout stand to meet her.

Does anyone have any hints how to make a selection that meets the criteria?

OK, let me direct a couple more questions his way!


1. There seems to be at least a little bit of randomness in her mood or maybe just her responses. This is especially noticeable at the beginning when I am PRETTY confident of all my moves so far. For example, if my first move after introduction is to say something funny, sometimes she says "THAT was funny - say something about me" and sometimes she just laughs. Question: should I be watching her responses and modifying my moves, or does this starting condition drop out of importance pretty quickly?

2. On sort of a related topic, a couple of the walkthroughs suggest to start the conversation with a compliment, but (just who I am, I guess) I prefer to start with something funny. It seems like a HUGE project to research how much difference it makes, but maybe you've already done it?

So you want to know the whole truth about the beginning of the Ariane game and the consequences of your answers? Than have a look at the Initialization Sequence and you will find all the answers on one page (if you read the code instead, this is longer than one page).
