Fenrir had big headedly thought he could never be bound, but a lot of odd items went into the binding rope and, much to his anger and dismay, he found himself immobilised and Tyr became a southpaw.
That's pretty much how it went down. Fenrir wasn't evil as such, but a playful wolf with the size of a small moon will cause havoc. Something had to be done.
Greebo wrote:I wrote a little tale that had Tyr turning Were because of Fenrir's bite and the Aesir shepherding him through the change whilst removing the demonic curse channeled through Fenrir from Loki. In this modified world of mine, Tyr became the progenitor of a species of powerful "grey" Weres who dedicated themselves to the protection and welfare of the world, and in particular to defending against the depredations of the offspring of Loki’s other children -- "black" Weres produced by Fenrir's activities, bloodsucking vampires, emotion leeches and soul consuming demons.
There are no demons in Norse lore, but since they would invent just about anything to explain their existence, so can you. So demons, werewolves and vampire it is^^
