Games that have it all?

I'm fairly new to the whole 'Adult Games' world. I started with simple games of the Meet & Fuck variety, then moving on to games like Shark's, with more depth and interactivity. Then I played a bunch of virtual dating games and now I'm playing a bunch of AIF on TADS & Adrift players.

My question is this...
Are there any games that have the best attributes of all these genres? For example, I love the great stories in AIF, especially from writers like Goblinboy...and the newer games with pictures are great. But I miss the visual aspect of the Vdate games and the more 'hands on' interactivity that you find in the flash games.

I can imagine the amount of work it would take to pull all of that together, so I'd assume that if something like this does exist, it wouldn't be free. That's OK, I'd be willing to pay for good quality gaming, but I'm not sure where to find it, if it exists.

Any direction would be appreciated.

Thinking about it, I guess that some of the Lesson of Passion games are sort of what I'm describing. They certainly have a high visual quality and some of them have a pretty good story. There is some real-time interactivity but much of it is fairly clumsy, what with the disembodied hand.
They do have the multiple endings that you will find in AIFm that's a plus.

Pusooy games might also fit, as they have a decent story line, pretty good graphics and are certainly interactive.

I guess I'm also wondering if any of those '3D Sex' pay sites/games are comparable (or better) than the games I'm mentioning here.

I tried 'Sex Villa' but it wasn't really a game...just puppeteering.

Looks like you may have tapped a new market. There are people, myself included, that like these games but are looking for a good blending of the best of all of them. I am sure it can be done, but no one wants to do it for free. Unless someone just has a burning passion or money to burn for start up costs, looks like we will be left with games that people develop for the love of it. I salute them and say thanks for all their hard and diligent work. It has provided me with many hours of frustrating and enjoyable gameplay.

You're asking for games that "have it all", I don't think any of your suggestions really match that without seriously watering down your definition of "all".
The interaction in those scenes in LoP is minimal, certainly if you compare it to the level Pusooy has gotten to. On the other hand Pusooy's games are completely linear, which despite a reasonable storyline really subtracts from the gameplay as it has no replay value at all.

Leonizer may have been trying to mix up the genres a bit in his latest works, but with the fairly simplistic story decisions and interaction in sex scenes I would definitely not consider them as something "having it all".

Of course for me personally if I'm thinking of this I'd be along the lines of a game that has the complex story to the level of goblinboy's games together with pusooy's quality of animation and interaction, which certainly doesn't exist.

I agree. I mentioned those games as an afterthought to my original post, using them as examples of games that are on the right track...but obviously not quite there.

I doubt that the big video games companies would want to be associated too much with the adult genre, but how great would it be for one or more of the big companies to use their resources to create some adult games?

But considering that video games are a multi-billion dollar industry and "porn" is a multi-billion dollar industry....I think there may be an untapped market here.

I guess many of us is looking for the perfect erotic game. As far as I researched the market, none of available games is fitting Big Mike criteria in all aspects. Of course we can find games with great visuals (for instance with great 3d environment like SEX VILLA or HENTAI 3d) or with addictive story written by Goblinboy but... there is no one game combining those aspects together.

I would imagine perfect erotic game like the PS3 Heavy Rain with erotic elements (even not hardcore - subtle is enough). I like the HR because of the interactivity (amazing usage of MOVE controller), visuals and non-linear gameplay. There was one scene in this game, located in the disco club, when one of the main characters, Madison, need to perform striptease in front of a mafia thug - it really turns me on.

I believe that the work (time and frustration) involved in trying to reach that level of game play would require a team of at least 12 more to succeed. I do not think it is reasonable to expect this unless it was a commercial endiver. I was involved in a game project years ago, with 6 of us it almost did not get off the ground because we all had to make a living at the same time.

Someone on Hongfire said he would like to have a game that combines The Sims 3 and Artificial Girl 3. That would probably do it for me, but is impossible unless made by a professional game development firm.

In the US, at least, there is not that much of a market for adult games. There is a market, but a game developer can make more money with non-adult games.

Franco is correct. More money is made in non-adult game development than adult games. This will change if someone or a group of people with the money up front take the chance and risk to develop a really good adult game. It will be a big gamble, but the reward would be big if they get it right.

I think it is a quest for the perfect erotic game. And it will never end.
A game that combines The Sims 3 and Artificial Girl 3 would be a pretty good descrïption of it. From my point of view the perfect erotic game would not focus on sex only. It would simulate other aspects of life too (like The Sims), but it would have a lot, and I mean A LOT of sexy and sexual options, from kisses and hugs and rubs to proper sexual activities (Artificial Girl 3 has some of these options). I don't believe we will see such a game released in a short or medium period of time, it is something for decades ahead. Take The Sims franchise for example: In The Sims 2 they even managed to include some butt fondle and a convincing make out animation. No breast fondle (breasts are a taboo in America). Then came 2010 and The Sims 3 was released. Will Wright wasn't any longer in control of the franchise. And what happened? From the sexy point of view, a giant leap backwards! The make out animation was turned into a simple kiss, and all romantic interactions seemed to have been put into the freezer.
But we have already great erotic games. Unfortunately they don't have everything in one package thou.

For me a lot of options is the key for a good erotic game. And the option not to have sex with a character should always be there. I hate when my character has to have sex with someone in order to progress in the game. Maybe he wasn't into that girl.
