Hello,

I am a 30-ish (much heavier on the -ish than I'd like to admit, even to myself) male from the state of Oregon in the United States of America. I'm generally a forum lurker, but since Talero released her fabulous Adventure Creator tool, and after Daz Studio released their 3D Modeling program for free, I began writing a Virtual Date style game and am almost 300 pages into it. Soon I will have a beta of the first part of the game ready and look forward to posting it in the Projects section for feedback, as well as providing feedback to others.

Hi all,

My online nick is TriMoon (see my Wikipedia page).
I'm a self-retired geek from the pre-internet era.
I have been a visitor and user of Sharks games since many years but today i decided to join the forum, because i had an idea.
Unfortunately, due to anti-spam rules, I'm unable to post my idea in the Projects section yet...

Anyway my idea was to, preferably in collaboration with the artists here, to create some kind of framework to make these games in HTML5+X3DOM.
In my opinion these new technologies are perfectly suited for these kind of games !
I've already started a local project here on my computer to create an in-browser "X3DOM-Editor" (the name of my project), which will be hosted on google-code in due time.
It can't do anything yet as i *just* started it, but knowing my self it will be functional just the way i want it
Unfortunately i'm more a technical person and not so much graphically gifted, that's where the artists could take over

It would help if the 3D-Models that are currently available on sharks website would be available in X3D format *hint-hint*

How well have you explored "Projects"? Is there something within the DAZ discussions that could assist you with doing your own graphics? But then, why not leave a plea within one of the threads, maybe an artist may feel some empathy and at least converse with you.

Well i didn't dig through all the topics ofcourse, but did a search on HTML5 and X3DOM which didnt show anything
Like i said im not artistic, so i have no hope of ever making such game myself, but being technical i could help create tools to make this dream reality.
This genre of games isn't as popular on the internet as it should yet, but maybe HTML5 will change that hehehe

I really need to be interested in HTML5 and javascript to develop my games. I don't know X3DOM but the demos I've seen are impressive. In any case, TriMoon, if I can help you, no problem. You can also certainly help me very much...

Since you've been coming here for some time you undoubtedly have been aware of Projects. If not check out the two categories there, some of the threads there as likely will provide some insights. Members with expertise will further guide you as best they can.
