Eligarf wrote:From the site: "The Miami Voyeur is an adult story game with original, detailed and realistic plot."

Realistic plot? I hope not! Isn't the whole point of these games to have plots that are at least moderately fantasy?

Anyway, I concur with the above assessments of the writing (it is bad) and with the bad proportioning of body sizes. Kate in particular is a circus freak.

That said, I see a tremendous amount of potential here, and sent the guy $20 in hopes that it turns into something worthwhile. You have to start somewhere, after all. And I am perfectly willing to support anybody who is going to give something like this their best effort. I certainly don't have the talent that is required, or the patience, and I appreciate those of you who do.

I suspect what he means is that the plot is *believable*, which is desirable for an adult game (a good one anyway). The thing that worries me is not that the writing is bad (which it is), but that it's also littered with errors. That kind of stuff is easy to fix (just run the text through a spellchecker and get someone to proofread it). If it's not done it doesn't bode well for the amount of attention being paid to everything else.

I have been wondering about Daz but concerned if you can make a standard Daz character look different enough to serve as many different characters. I guess my question is how much can you change on the standard Daz character? Different hair color and eyes certainly don't make for a different person. As you can tell, I know next to nothing about Daz. Thanks for any input or suggestions on the options to use in making background and characters for my game.

Phreaky and I use Daz3D. All female characters before Christine were Victoria 3. Christine is Victoria 4. I really want him to switch to Genesis. The basic characters aren't very configurable until you add "morphs" to them. With the right morphs you can have significant differences in the characters.

Do not think the game is yet ready. I think it is in the stage as "donations" to develop the game.

it's a crowdfunding campaign to help the creator make the game, it's mentioned on ulule that he plans to release the game around July this year.

Exactly, people that donate money, will get the EP 1 & 2 upon it's release. It is not out yet though. So you have to wait for it.

Good luck! The game looks good, but unfortunately I haven't money to contribute. I hope you get it.

MisterU wrote:exactly my thoughts too, and that's why i like to support indie developers/projects on crowdfunding sites, they must start somewhere, they must eat and pay theirs bills like everyone else, crowdfunding sites are a new tool at their disposal. Unfortunately sometimes i see on some forums a kind of witch hunting after them, people expect them to deliver the best super perfect game, people easily forget that they're just a few guys or a single guy working for many months (or more) for free with little chances of seeing any return for their time, but they're doing it because it's their true passion and that's what drives them, not because they're receiving a big wage at the end of the month on some big studio, this is something i really appreciate (and support).

Don't mistake criticism (or just people having doubts) for witchhunting...
Crowdfunding is essentially about two things: presentation of an idea, and convincing people you can do it. After all, it is just asking for money, so it's only natural that people will be critical of choosing what they're investing in. So my point of view is that if you opt for crowdfunding you better be meticulous about your presentation. It doesn't have to be finished, it doesn't have to be perfect, but you need to create a good impression of what the game will be like. For example, spelling errors and bad punctuation make this look sloppy. And it would've been so easy to improve that, especially given that not much is being shown. Now you can say "but it will improve, it's just a concept!", but personally I believe there's no reason to assume this from someone who appears to be new to the business. While he does show some nice artwork, there's not much there to convince people he can do more than that... And for me that's enough to pass on this.

Now if something like this were presented by a seasoned game creator (like Shark, Puso, goblinboy, tlaero/phreaky, or anyone you can think of) who wanted to take on a bigger project which actually needed funding, it would've been a different story entirely because you'd already know what you can expect of them.

But nobody know him, who know if he will do it ?? If he don't, we got screw, we made a "Donation", the justice could even said something like "if you were dumb enough to trust him, you got what you deserve !!"

So until i see something real, no donation from me could be done !!

Nothing guarantees that the creator of any crowd funding campaign (for whatever purpose, game, band, film, whatever) delivers what he promises, this one is no different from the thousands of kickstarter campaigns out there, and many from guys we never heard about, it's up to us decide to support them or not, if they fail to deliver later it's their reputation that suffers and yes our money gone, but it's the risk of supporting crowd funding campaigns.

Years ago I prepaid for a game the developer promised would be completed in a week or two. It was never completed and I will never do that again.

Think this thing might have gone the way of the dodo. According to its crowdfunding campaign site, donations are closed and he only made $412 of the $2632 he was hoping to get. Dunno if this means that the project is going to be delayed or just outright canceled but either way I wouldn't expect to see this game by the July release date he initially said. Quite the shame, looked like it could have been a fun game.
