Naah... You just have to use your money wisely. You can get some money at the bank as soon as Part 2 begins, though.

To anyone having problems with the corridor in the base.

You need to get the sonic reducer at the hangar after you taze the scientist in the ufo. Then just type shoot to kill aliens.

I'm stuck at the queen also.

Thanks, but I just figured it out. I spent fifteen minutes doing all kinds of stuff with the vial before I figured it out.

Hey all just got home from work and didnt read through the thread but noticed people with scrolling issues. In glulx on the very top left there is a scrollback button..it is easily missed but if you click it you can scroll to your hearts content.

Found two critical bugs:
1. If you don't get false id with jeff, then you cannot launch part2 (given list of code words - incomplete)
2. If you use bottle of wine in part1, then picnic in part2 cannot be launched and therefore cannot be completed.

you dont "need" the food or wine for the picnic. You can still have a subpar picnic without it, the wine could be used earlier in the game at another part so it is not necessary on friday.

Is there any way to get down with Becky, Ivy or Samantha at the party?
I was there with Katie, Maggie with and without ecstasy but it ends always with Olivia and my date.

Also i heard that u can find Renee's house. I gave her what she wanted in part 1 on day 2 and get my 'reward' but when I opened the second part with the codewords It seems that she just "forget"? And I can see her leave the stripclub on day3 but when I go in there she isn't there. I tried to ask the stripper about renee but it doesn't worked.

the spin the bottle part is pure randomness...after the party the only potential people you can have fun with is olivia, the person you brought and even a celebrity.

I'm almost at the end... but there are still some things I just can't figure out:

- How am I supposed to get past that dog? I tried to use the tazer, but the dog kills me.
- I tried to follow the hints about the asian girl (give her drinks), but she does not respond to anything
- The black chick always leaves during the dance part.

You need to put the dog to sleep through non-violent means. You will probably need to gather some things from around town and mix them together.

hah you all should thank me because I came up playing old text adventure games and alot of the puzzles in the gamer were originally on the same level as the dog, I figured it was too hard so I did away with or dialed them down a bunch. hah I would have made alot of people annoyed I think

after the event where the guy gets taken into the cave, im lost. i can go to the barn but cant find anything. if i go into the cave i cant see anything and die. if i try to go home it wont let me.i dont have a key for the guys house. not sure where to go or what to search for

The key is in the barn, read the description of the room and start poking your nose around.

re: the asian girl in the club, there are some encounters in the game that are easy peasy and some that are tough, the asian girl is on the tough side of the ledger. I will say this, you need to lay the groundwork the first time you potentially can meet her and later on it "may" pay dividends, some of the testers did it so I know it isnt impossible to figure out

also re: the game in general there are a ton of possible encounters you can have. Some will preclude you from having others, some are only possible in small windows of opportunity, I wanted the game to have replay value. I ended up getting carried away perhaps because I broke the program used to make the game lol..hence it being in 2 parts (which still annoys me beyond words but it was the only way).

Last word for now. Wanna thank all you guys for playing, it's a trip to think that I made this and people are actually playing it. This is my first game and may be my last (not sure) I am a complete novice just a regular guy like you so it was a learning experience for sure. If I do jump back in and do another expect it to be a bit tighter ( ahem) and less buggy, def overreached a little bit for my first attemp....anyway enjoy, glad to see you are finding some of the goodies but there are a bunch that nobody found yet

I loved all those hidden encounters. Working out how to unlock them feels like an achievement. Overall, Peril in Pleasantville reminds me of the kind of games the AIF community used to produce back in the day. Yes, it's rough around the edges and lacks the polish of some of the games released today, but there's a raw energy about it that I like and it's a lot of fun to play. The graphics are top notch too, especially some of the shots of Katie.

I hope this isn't the last game you make. If you don't feel up to another solo effort, maybe collaboration with someone else is the way to go?
