I am Collin and I am one of the newbies of the group. I am please to meet you all.:)

Collin,
Yes, please be most welcomed to our group. Your username? I like the sound of that.
Can you arrange a meeting with "Wendy" for me? I'll take "Nanny" second on my list.

Then there's DiTo. She doesn't seem to understand that a 'nibble' means 'cheese and dip' and not a taste of ear!

Hi, I've been a fan of Shark's games for quite some time now.
My native language is Spanish, so I've offered my help and now I'm finishing the Spanish translation of the Jungle project.

I don't really participate in forums very much, in fact this is my first post.
The only reason I came to the forum today is because I wanted to share an idea for a new game, but I can't do it because it says I need to have sent at least 10 messages before I'm allowed to post a new idea

Anyway, here's my idea:

I really like almost all of Shark's games, but I think my favourite is Sweet Anais 2. Of course it's a bit like Sweet Anais 1 and the Allison one, but those ones had this annoying "timing" factor and you could lose and you'd have to start again, and also they were unrealistic in many ways.

Sweet Anais 2 is my favourite because it's much more realistic, and ALSO, it's customisable, which is a FANTASTIC feature... you know what I mean ;)

So, my idea is, we should have a new game, just like Sweet Anais 2, but much more customisable.
So for example:
1) more options for the existing customisations, like skin colour, hairstyle, etc
2) new customisations such as: eye shape, body shape, mouth shape, voice etc
3) new customisations such as: if you could change the relative position of eyes, nose, mouth, etc, to make it look exactly like the girl you want, you know what I mean ;)
Kind regards,

Whatever (or idwafb as I'm known in other places)

Here's an idea, visit 10 posts and make a legitimate comment!
There is also a "Game Ideas" thread in "The beach", viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2562.
While I'm happy to see you post and become a contributing member I wish you'd followed the rules and their intent to do it.

Whatever, WELCOME to the lagoon!!

We (with the possible exception of the MSgt) will grant forgiveness for your transgression in grateful exchange for your work in providing Spanish translation for the new game.

If you'll notice, the 10-post restriction is only on starting a new topic. There are already a few topics that might prove appropriate for addition of your idea.

Thanks for your help, and welcome again.

Hi Newdood, thanks for the clarification.

I don't really understand LRM's policy of discouraging newcomers who want to help. Is he trying to destroy this place?
Besides, I *did* read the rules before I posted, and it says very clearly that they are in order to fight spam. Therefore, if I know my comment is not spam, I'm not breaking the intention of the rule. And I'm not breaking the actual rule either, being that I did not actually start a new thread (which is forbidden by the software). So franky I don't understand this guy at all.

Anyway, the Spanish version is now complete, now I'm waiting for Shark to add it to the flash, so I can verify it in the actual game.

Cheers!

Please don't MIS-understand LRM. I can assure you - he's sometimes a little crusty around the edges, but he is quite a decent individual and DEFINITELY does not want to destroy the place!!

He isn't trying to discourage anybody who's trying to help - in fact, he's been very active in recruiting people to help with various tasks. One of the things he does try to discourage is the newcomer who doesn't read much of the previously written information but still wants to dictate how the site should be run.

Let me be clear here - I'm quite sure that you are not one of them, but there is a frustratingly large pool of people who are sure that they know best and aren't interested in other opinions. Fortunately, most of 'em don't stay that way too long, but that is partly because their frame-of-mind is challenged by our crusty MSgt.

Enjoy your visit, THANKS for the Spanish translation, and hope to see you around the lagoon regularly for the long run!

I want only to add a thought:
There are too many people who register in the lagoon only to ask a question when they are stuck (They are easy to recognize: their posts never start with "Hello !" or "Hi !").
When they have an answer, they leave and do not return.
Lou reminds all that the lagoon is a community and not a "hot line."
I think that is very useful.

I was remiss for not thanking You for your contribution; Thank You.
I discourage no one from participating in the daily happenings within the Lagoon.
In fact I ENCOURAGE everyone to post at least 10 times. The intent of the 10 posts IMO is no reason to circumvent what the rule says. When this occurs, for whatever reason, it encourages more do so and can ultimately lead to chaos IMO.
I extend my thanks once more and apologize for my initial oversight.
Lou
This discussion is far off topic... Perhaps if we continue this too, need be a different thread.

If she is also your insurance agent it'd probably save time and telephone calls.

Maybe she should also be your Bail/Bondsman.
