New poster here, and not very experienced at gaming.

I installed the "luke patch" as described above and it worked perfectly. Using Win XP, Mozilla Firefox 3.5.5, very recent downloaded version of game. I was able to travel to the lake, take a seat, and proceed to the "happy ending."

People having trouble should provide details such as OS, browser version number, etc.
