I must be stupid. I can't find a way to hit the ball!

i just found by random for one time to hit the ball, and it only made a very small punch (plopp)

Click on cue and drag to rotate. The path the balls will take is shown. Then click in the box top left of games screen, helpfully called 'hit'. click on cue, draw back - further for harder hit - and release to take stroke.

That said, I'm rubbish at the game ... ...

I like pool, so I enjoy these games. They take some skill rather than being dependent upon a random number generator. The strippers just make winning a little more rewarding.
