Singles 2: Triple Trouble

all you need to install the booster is 1.2 patch and the right configurations, 1.4 patch will create problems on a cracked game

if you want the booster to work you have install the game.
go to http://rs746.rapidshare.com/files/33219 ... s2.sfx.exe
and get the file there.
Replace the singles2 exe in your game folder (Program Files/ Singels2) with the file you downloaded.
make your own new folder the Singles2 folder name it 'Extensions'
put your booster in that foler (or any other extension add ons you have , or want)
install the 1.2 patch
start a NEW game

then you have to go to the buy menu and buy either bonsai of life or the buddah that says booster on it
once you buy the buddah click on it in the game and chhose what you want to be enabled. (most of the text is in german, but not hard to figure out) unless you rewrite a few files to english.

With further investigations with this particular file you will need to use 1.4 patch in order for it to work. the one prior to I had replaced game files with old ones which is why it worked.

so in short
1 install the game
2 copy crack over
3 copy new singles2 exe (that come from the rapidsharelink into singles2 directory folder
4 patch with 1.4
5 install extensions into the new extensions folder (including, but not limited to) the booster.

If something doesn't install into the game from extensions folder open the info dat file with notepad and see if it supports the language you run. if not you can try to change it, but chances are you won't be able to use it

Kristina you need to use winrar program to extract the files then you will see an installation file in it, form there got to link I posted and follow the instructions I have there if you don't care about the cheats. then all you have to do is open the folder (from what you extracted) named crack copy it to your singels2 folder and it will run the game. however if you want the cheats, you need to go to rapidshare and get the file I posted and follow the instructions I posted

Allrightythen I have encountered a small but I think not irrelevant problem.
when I try to install the singles 2 booster it say that you have to copy over characterdescrïption.acd from the singles2Booster over to the game directory.

As the good boy that I am I took a backupcopy of the file first and threw it in the backupfile with all the other files I am told to backup.... But when I went back to the booster directory there was no such file there.


I cursed myself for downloading from filefront thinking they had altered the zip pack...so I downloaded the file directly from her site..... replaced the booster with the one from her site... opened up gamelogics as told on the english tutorial picture on how to install the game... and the file was still missing. from that pack too. well anyway installed the booster as instructed apart from the characterdescrïption file that I never found.

Another thing that confuses me is how do install the various clothes. They are marked " start " " everyday" etc. etc
You say that I should install them in the exstensions folder... do I just unrar the file and drop the content to in the out in the exstensions folder ?

I am very confuced, something that happen alot nowadays. Can you please provide me with a step by step instruction on how to " mod " the game ? Imagine you are trying to describe it to a little kid, hehe and I might have a chance of getting it

On page 2 of this topic is a discussion by me and others of how to install the game, booster, etc. It is Very Important that Steffi's instructions be followed when installing the booster, as you will see from the discussion.

For the clothes, yes, just insert them into the extensions folder. They should appear when you buy clothes for your characters.

I'm with Tjommi on this one.. This bulletin board sometimes descends into several teccie types trying to out-clever each other.
Far too often I don't even bother trying games because people are putting up apparently contradictory information - and I DO speak English, so it's not just a language problem.
Saying "follow the guide" is no longer good enough. Taking this thread as an example, I can already see references to at least 2 "cracks" (whatever they are), which may both need installing in addition to the rar files listed in the first entry. They must either be installed in a specific order or only one may need installing, or maybe neither, and so on.
Would it be possible for you guys take this sort of thing offline and only come back on here when you are clear that you have it straight and are ready to share it with the rest of us in plain English?
It is very confusing to those of us who don't know (and have no wish to know) the teccie jargon.
It might also be an idea for someone to compile and post a guide to the jargon too - seeing as there's already so much of it.

crap.. allright.. haha I found the missing file. jesus I gotta learn how to read. That little whoosee forced me to reintall the game. Tralala... anyway I removed singles2 from my system, that caused a really mysterious bug. I could not delete the config file. It said I needed administrator clearence to do so... only problem was that I am the administrator on this computer.. hell there is onlly one user, and I am the only one that uses it. I tried to the best of my abilities to fix this problem, but after a good while I gave up, and for some reason I thought that rebooting the computer would help... as it did. I have no idea why.

Anyway, I reinstalled the game, installed 1.2 patch... installed 1.4 patch... installed booster.... installed the nocencour thingy and though I was set to go. But no.

I enter singles 2 and I go into the guy menu to buy " the bonsai of life " or the budda thingy. But they are nowhere to be found. only thing I found was a regular bonsai plant and a stupid Buddah statue that did nothing. I really have no idea what I have done wrong, as I have followed all instructions perfectly.

Can somebody please help me out ? I have spendt half a day getting this game right, and I am starting to get a little bit frustrated.

First of all should there not be a bonsai or a budda even without the extension patch ? And second... when you add mods in addiction to the booster... like the booster addon... do you unzip the files directly into your extension directory, or do you copy the folder with the files over to the extension directory ? Is it the same way with clothes ? and where do I get that bonsai or buddah ?

I wasn't kidding when I said I needed step by step instructions, because yes, I have read the entire thread, and yes I have read the instruction on the german site( I did remember to copy over the characterfile this time around) , and I have read the instructions in the patch addon. It says there that I have to make sure that it's alphabeticly listed after the booster in the extension directory, so I copied over the directory with the booster exstension in it over to the exstension directory, and it ended up alphabeticly after the booster directory.
And yet... it doesn't work. I can play the game with the altered character file so it should work, and I have no idea why it doesn't. If I am rambling... it's because I started installing this game at 11pm. it's now 5.30 in the morning.

Ok I discovered that I had written Extensions wrong in the game directory. I dragged and dropped all the outfits over there and got them them buyable.. but now I got new problems.
The only interaction that's available is romatic talk. friensship and flirting is no longer possible, so it's impossible to build relationships, and neither of the chars in the game want to eat. you can snack but you can't eat any meals, from the refrigderator or cooking them selves. you finish the meal grab the plate and just stand there and refuce to start eating.

This just keep getting better and better.

In my Extensions folder are the following:
Singles2Booster (folder, 13.9 MB)
Singles2Booster-Phalzyr (folder, 1.03 MB)
AvVBonsaiOfLife.sx2 (SX2 file, 106 KB)

You need the Extensions folder if you want to add anything to the game that is not original. That is what the Extensions folder is for. Everything to be added to the game goes in the Extensions folder.

You can see the file for the Bonsai is in the Extensions folder. I think the file for Steffi's Buddha must be in the Singles2Booster folder.

I haven't added any clothes this time, but if I did they would be in the extensions folder too.

Hope this helps. I have installed Singles2 using the directions I give on page 2 here many times. I will play it for a while, then uninstall it to free up space on my hard drive, then reinstall it again when I want to play it some more.

Now you know what I ment with mee needed good explanations. putting that file in the folder seemed obvious to you and thought most likely something like : " He can't be that stupid " but yes I am. at least when it comes to things I know nothing about

What I don't understand is why have the removed the friend and flirt options ? By that they force you to use modify the relationship lvl in order to be able to interact with them at all. It completely ruins the game and give you just another sexvilla artificial girl3 mindless oooh let's strip and fuck thingy.

Let's evaluate this a little bit.
Pro's... you get alot of adult action
.... that's it.
Con's
- The character refuce to eat meals from the frigde or the ones cooked by them selves and others. They just get their meal and they stand there and hang, unable to sit down and eat.
- The only thing you can eat is snacks.
- The characters cannot interact with other charcters without choosing the love interaction choice. Unless you have altered the relationsships of the others towards you that mean that you cannot interact with them at all.

I was hoping that this patch would open up a few doors without closing others, and I gotta say that I am a little dissapointed. I don't like having to be forced to choose between a fun dating game and a mindless sex game.

But this is not your fault Franco, I really apprechiate your help. I still can't find the budda in my purchase menu but I guess that can't be helped. I couldn't find the bonsai of life because I didn't download it in the first place. I thought it was part of the booster pack, I got it now and placed it where you told me to, and it works.

We had the same problems with eating and interactions when we first started with Singles 2. You will see us discussing that on page 1 of this thread.

Then we found out you needed to install patch 1.2 and patch 1.4. Once those are installed correctly, the problems with eating and interactions should disappear.

By the way, once you install patches 1.2 and 1.4 (I forget which one) it should overwrite the crack (which is an exe file) with a new exe file that says Singles2 wiith a heart next to it (all white, 7.63 MB).

Hmm, i've installed the game but not sure what to do next. I added the no-cd patch but what do i next. Also are the 1.2 and 1.4 patches included in the downloads or do i need to find them myself, thanks.

First, install the 1.2 patch, then install the 1.4 patch. With these patches, you no longer need the crack (that is, the no CD patch).

ok NOw i finally understand why I have had so much trouble getting this game to work. Jesus fucking rollerskating christ with fluffy wings and lollipop. For some reason I was convinced that the link that satanas got in his post is the 1.2 patch. something that isn't the case at all. I tracked down the 1.2 patch with a single google. uninstalled the 1.4 patch uninstalled the game and started over. Now things are working perfectly. Thank you Franco for your neverending patience, and please forgive my stupidity.
Ok for other people reading this ( and most likely find the entire thing really funny. I know I would laugh my ass off at that idiot if I was the one reading my posts posted by someone else, ) here is a step by step idiot proof guide on how to get everything right.

1) install the game
2) copy over the crack
3) Google for the 1.2 patch, find it and install it.
4) download the 1.4 patch and install it.
5) download the booster and place it in the extensions folder created by the 1.2 patch. just visit Steffi's site and follow the instructions located under booster/install/eng and you will be fine.
6)get the booster addon and place it in the same folder as the booster.
7) google bonsai of life download and copy it over

By now you should be experienced enough to find resources yourself like clothes and other mods, the best ones are actually on Steffi's site, allthough there are a couple of interesting ones in the french blog that might be worth checking out.
Best of luck to you all, and hopefully you woun't go through as much trouble as I did to get this game working properly.

Thank you kessie... It's really not that difficult it's just that I kept on making stupid mistakes along the way installing this game. All I needed was someone to dumb it down enough for me, and for me not to jumping to illogial concluctions and thing worked as a charm. If you do it right you can have this game installed and patched/modded in 15 minutes. I got it working, and it's most definitely worth it.

d3dx9_28.dll, keep on getting a Direct X error when trying to start the game and it says it can't find this file. I installed Direct X so i did, any ideas?
