Arnulf, I do need to let you in on something. Strength and charm help with a lot of things. Charm can be gained for free at the Pub. Strength, until you have the money to buy one (if you play anything other than the Sports person), will cost you $30 every time at the gym. Also, building your knowledge the whole game through helps, some too. Especially on the tests. I am working out a few things on the game myself, but in the first week, or so, you should be able to buy all the mail stuff and the alarm, without too much hassle. Starting the week with the gym, work, lottery ticket, and then Aria. The last thing to do is go to your house, and sleep. When you wake up, everyday, check the mail, and then go from there. Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays are reserved for school, work, lottery (at least the weeks that you don't test), Aria, and sleep. Mondays and Fridays are gym days, and Wednesday and Sundays are charm days. You may encounter Jo earlier than this, but this works for me, about the best. Typically by Sunday I have an alarm, unless all my money is stolen, and I've only spent $130 between gym visits and lottery tickets in the first week. I go a slightly different tact the second week. I go to the Teacher's room, and use that to boost the knowledge. (The week before the tests.) Then I go to work in the Pub. All this helps me to get better at the tests a little faster, and I don't fail them, either. But I may play differently than some people do, as well.

Hi, Sir Twist, naturally, there are a lot of ways to come successfully through the game. In order to earn enough money which you need for playing, you should focus to raise your charme value over 50. Then you can work as car dealer, which brings you a good income. Charme raising you can do quickest by sun tanning at the sports studio. But first you have an urgent need to buy the alarme, so, that you wouldn't loose your money. Another thing is the sofa, because having the sofa you can get your dayly time regenerated by sleeping to 100 from the beginning on. Threrfore my best person to start is the businessman. Within two working days as mechanic you've got the money for buying the alarme. However, if you are playing with some diligence, there is no need to spend money in the lotterie, because this is too uncertain. Playing the platinum version, you can proceed only a little slowly, because of your need to work as photographer in order for getting the model.

Ok, I'm just throwing this out there. If you are playing the game, I suggest starting as a businessman. Free sofa and phone from the start. Days 1 and 2 should be work as a mechanic 2 times, see Aria, sleep at home, check mail when you wake up, then repeat for day 2. By day 3, if you go to the mall and get the alarm, then pub and sit 2 times, your charm will be raised a little, and then see Aria. Then go home, rest, mail, then school once, work, Aria. If you have a few extra dollars and time, lottery. Friday rolls around, gym, train muscles, work, lottery, Aria. By this time, you should have been to level 2 with Aria. At least. Saturday, class, work, lottery, Aria. Sunday, pub, sit, work as a barman, Aria. Monday, same as Sunday. Tuesday, University, extra lessons, Pub barman, Aria. Wednesday, gym, work, lottery, Aria. Thursday same as Tuesday, as well as Saturday. Friday, same as Monday. Sunday, same as Wednesday. Every other week, flip that around until you have enough for a camera, and training set. The training set will save money. The Pub will allow you to meet a lot of people, including Jo, etc.

I think the easiest way to earn money is to try your luck with the lottery for the first 7-10 days. When you finish the money, just work, then play lottery some more. If you don't have like 10-15.000 $ by the end of day 10 or so, just restart the game.

It kind of ruins the fun at the beginning, but it works like a charm in the long run.

Although the game took me nearly all day to finish with the Aria wedding, this is one awesome game, very addictive !
