The missing upgrade is me being evil. I mentioned it in the patchnotes.
It was planned for this release but postponed when I changed focus to another path.

I have uploaded Beta 0.40b adding the two info events that have been talked about over the last couple of pages.
Minor fixes besides.

Should make progression more clear.

Talking to scruffy about the computer/upgrade and sharing pictures is not the only thing you need to do to buy the computer...

BTW, I'm at 17551712111036. I was given end of the line messages for Scruffy, Zoe, Daisy, and got the choice from Gem. I think my next step is cash for the Club repair to advance most of the lines I have left. Any other suggestions (other than more evening work for Taylor)?

Yeah, but he still doesn't have the new computer and couldn't figure out why. You can advance Scruffy past the upgrade step and still not have purchased it.

You should be able to choose when to upgrade from the laptop to the big PC. But you should not be able to skip that step as you say. I will check and fix if needed.
Regarding your progress.
You are correct that club repair and evening work is in your future. If you get the new version B0.40b you might also get a hint to a third path opening.

Hmmm, I had something like 3 updates in the Scruffy line in the same day including sharing the Taylor pictures for no reward ( ), but I now think that was after I bought the computer. BTW, Scruffy's line about cucumbers almost made me spray Dr. Pepper all over my keyboard. Funny, funny stuff. Well done.

Nvm on this part. I re-read the OP and see you still have the comment about no Blorb. I got confused when I went to Reddit/Patreon and saw comments about the blorb availability.

Hmmm, maybe that could be a use for the command 'score'. Let's you know if you've started or ended a person's storyline, and gives you hints for progress within each storyline you're progressing. For the people, like me, who will sometimes miss important information and forget where to find it (like going for 7 days before remembering that photo #2 with Lara was available). If nothing else, it might reduce the number of posts you're giving with hint information.

A sort of task list or task guide has been suggested before and as off right now it is not a priority. I might look into it if the feedback is overwhelming but right now I note all the blocks people stumble into and try to fix the ones that get mentioned the most. Either by changing the text with hints or adding reminder events/text.
The goal is to have all hints make sense in world and having a list of tasks you are doing or keywords you need to remember might break that illusion.
So if people keep forgetting something ei. uploading pictures, my preffered solution would be to have a reminder from a character that you need to upload them rather then a ingame checklist.

I don't mind giving hints right now as it shows me where the problems are and what people think they have to do.
Once the game is complete I hope a walktrough can take over that job

about those reminders and some more things i ran into (see transcript)

- I had a scruffy reminder for Frey's pictures at 2300 in my room, so I assumed scruffy was there. But he wasn't
- I forgot which event, i believe it was the earlier kitchen access event, with Celeste and Frey. Where Morgan was locked in the kitchen and the player had no access. Where the event actually made me skip 1 entire day. Not 100% sure on that. Thought i triggered it early morning, then Celeste send me back to bed.
- A early event with Angela in the restaurant triggered and the text mentioned something about the player still having no access to the kitchen or something like that, but at that point i already had the rats done and believe i even already done the cooking

Scruffy event is working as intended. He enters and leaves the room during the event. So he is not there at that time as such.
The kitchen event where you have to fetch help is at night. Makes sense to go to bed after

About reddit. I still have to send them to the place that shall not be mentioned. If nothing else it has better downloads then Mediafire. I also send them here from that place so alls good.
