The main issue I have has already been brought up. Knowing what endings are out there. You made a comment about expanding achievements across the board, so maybe how you do that will handle this one as well. Personally I was simply thinking something as easy as, on the start (picking how you begin the day), if the right contained a 6/11. Basically something telling me, ok, there are 11 endings in part 1 and I've found 6. Would make a world of difference so I am not required to look up cheats and hints online to find out... doh! I've found all endings on part 1 ages ago and have been trying and trying to find more of the 40, and there aren't any here.

I'm not sure how this would work because the number of possible endings changes as you play. You may have 11 possible endings at the start but within (say) 3 clicks it could be down to a much lower number... and I don't know but I suspect there are sometimes more than one route to a possible ending - particularly the "bad" ones. If that's correct the counter may be showing you 6 but 5 of those could be the same as you've seen before just approached from another direction.

Be careful when you are exercising. Don't do too much or you'll be too tired to run on the beach but don't "cop out" every time or she'll think you're too pathetic and won't ask you to give her a ride to the beach... There are 3 options and 3 exercises - I'll say no more than that ;)

38/40, 1 of them being the one with Wendy, I think I'm stupid or something, can't figure it out, and I've tried a lot :/

I laughed out loud when I read that. It's clever and funny. On reflection though, it might lack the timelessness that your other titles have. A decade from now when we're still playing it (and we will be) will anyone understand the reference? I'm not sure either way.

ArianeB wrote:Renpy does allow mouse over events, the opening menu is an example of that, as well as the first and last puzzles in story 4. The problem is that it requires at least two images, so making the whole game that way is a memory hog.

I'm planning to convert Date Ariane to Renpy. To save memory, I will mostly use menus, but there are obvious places in the Date Ariane game (the mini games, the make out scenes) that MUST use mouse over events. Hopefully I can keep that project under 200 MB as well.

Do you mean memory, as in system memory in use by the application, or download size? If RenPy doesn't allow you to do mouse-over events without reloading the whole image, you could cheat it. Write some python code into the loader before you hand over control to RenPy that clones the images you need client-side. If you need to highlight certain areas to indicate an action, you could even package an image library and generate the modified images. For scenes with a common background, you could just package a difference map against the common background, with huffman compression or something. I expect there's a lot more in common in those images than there is different, even accounting for changes in shadows and reflections.

I'm not saying show this throughout my game play on every screen. That would be the same as printing an exam's answer key on the exam itself. There are 4 parts to the game. I'm simply saying, before I choose if I am playing part 1-4, show me if there are new endings to find there. Think of it like 4 separate games (which in essence, it is).

As it currently stands, if one doesn't check out the forum to get a list of endings, one could easily think, 4 parts, 40 endings... 10 each. I could end up playing the last couple parts over and over and over. All the while thinking, I have got to be missing something. Where in the world is some obvious branching point I'm missing. In fact there is only, what, 9 endings combined in the last 2 parts. So I'm sitting with 29 endings and frustrated beyond belief... (Might still get frustrated not finding the endings, but like the kids game of hotter/colder, it's always nice to know you are at least looking in somewhat the right direction)

Just missing 1 ariane and 1 Paula ending, I guess I'll try paula now, and if someone can give me a hint for the ariane one I'm missing I would appreciate it.

The game was lots of fun and worth the wait. I found an ending to the photoshoot with Rachel that doesn't really have an "ending" in the gallery, so I don't know if you want to add a 41st picture to the gallery or if there is other stuff that we may be missing by being ocd completionists and just trying to get all the endings.

Reading thought, that could be where acheivements could come in. Having sex after the photoshoot, getting all the video game characters naked in story 4, etc.

I'm surprised no one has tried to give us a walkthrough yet... is there no sex in story 4? Not even nude?

Ok, got 39/40...

Seems I'm missing the last one with Paula. I got the SITA and Game Over, what am I missing?

The one you are missing is an odd ruled one. Redo SITA with "Done It All!". You know how at the end of credits of Marvel movies they have a preview of the next Marvel movie? This is sort of my version of that.

Not sure if a future sequel will actually continue this story or not. I'm more interested in doing a SITA sequel based on the LARPing ending.

Is there something else I am missing for this, run through this about 3 times with "Done it all" for no extra credits, hope it is something good, Paula has become my favourite girl here

EDIT

Nevermind, just got it, don't know how or why but I got the prelude to the next game. 33 endings down, 7 to go

Must say - really quite impressed (favorably) by the whole. Graphics are really, really good. Got all 4 main story lines - still just starting through all the endings. Impressions so far - Graphics - A. I love how far this has progressed, and never realized how many characters were being generated. Structure - B (I happen to like the visual novel format, and this is the best Renpy work I've seen visually, but as a novel is a bit truncated. I understand this is related to visual content in this case - there has to be a limit).

Will add to this as I get more gameplay but *THANKS GREATLY* Ariane...

@Ariane: Nice game. I haven't read all the post but I saw a little mistake.

If you get the assistant girl at gym. When you've to do the first exercice, if you ask less she told you to do 25 movements. But when she came back, she asks you: Have you did all the 20?

So I think she is a little dumb or has a red fish's memory :p

Else the game is really good but as other told you, a restart button would not be a gadget :)
