Everything is 3D. Both the human models, the props and the bar. I just pose them. Never had the problem you are describing. Have posed up to 23 models once. But then it was lagging like crazy.

Yes I edit the pics in Gimp or Photoshop to. Smoke is made in Gimp. Some light improvements in PS.
