I agree that the correct word should be 'pubes'(plural) but I felt that its common use detracted from the formality of a polite conversation with Nanny. so I left it in its singular form.

On the 'have been' 'had been' comment. I tend to disgree since 'have been' implies that she is still drugged which is no longer true and 'had been' implies she no longer is drugged which is the case. However I do appreciate close reading comments. I try to keep the English usage a little formal and phrased to maintain a link to its French origin

Ah ok you treat that as a question of register, fair enough. Pubic hair, would serve that purpose too without creating the confuisons for guys like me who didn't know that there is a singular to pubes :-) But thats fine.

However on the tense thing, wouldn't you have to say " i think you were drugged " then?
As the leap from the present tense to past perfect is too far? Or at least uncommon in the english timeline?
As "Past perfect verbs tend to occur in dependant clauses. In this case the simple past tense in the main clause provides the perspective for interpreting the time reference. The event in the dependant clause was completed by the time of the event in the main clause. " (Longman "Student grammar of spoken and written english" 2004)

I know its nit-picking but I am interessted in stuff like that. So i don't ask because i want to annoy you.

If i wanted to annoy you i would say, have been is the only reasonable one as she clearly is still drugged and the effects are merely starting to fade which is clearly indicated by her not being able to keep her eyes open at the first try. ;-)
But i am not saying that *g*

Isn't there a professor for english linguistics swimming around in the lagoon to enlighten us about the etymology of the word familiy pubis and the correct semantics of the consecutio temporum? Otherwise we will never understand this scene and will never finish this game.

I think, Potty's translation is one of a native english speaker, who not in absolutely all cases would use some language constructions, which are oficially printed in theoretical and didactic and heavy books, but the main purpose should be to use in a game the language as it is spoken by normal people, who normally doesn't have any idea about the consecutio temporis.

As an example, the normal German speaking people never would use the correct construction for future events instead of the present construction. If I clear up a date with my friend, I would say: "I meet you there" instead of the correct "I will meet you there".

In Germany the people have so much respect of the more complicated language-constructions, that it is usual in the upper class to use such constructions in spite of being wrong, when such people want to show their "excellent" education as sign for their outstanding social position: When they are speaking of their last holidays at the Maledives, they would say: "We had been at the Maledives" insted of "We have been........" Such things to hear is always ridiculous for me (si tacuisses...........)

Il faut que le jeu puisse se connecter à internet (au site) pour y chercher un code d'authentification

@potty. Ok point taken.

Only for those with linguistic interests ;-) :

Nothing to do with my german speaking back ground. And the "meet you there" is also grammatically correct as present tense verbs can have a future aspect. At least from a descreptive grammar viewpoint.
The Longman i quoted is one of these very new and hip grammar books that don't adhere to strict rules but assemble corpora of written and spoken English, look at them and then derive their most commmon usage.
I just never ran over a present tense with a past perfect tense in the same sentence thats why i asked.
