I am not gone

A quiet place at the lagoon side for speaking about all and nothing (the financial crisis, sex, your country, sex, hobbies, or...sex)

Off topic a little... Ever hear of the Black Sheep Squadron? They flew Corsairs.

Navy and Marine pilots.
The Black Sheep were Marines...
Major Boyington commanded.
The TV series was quite good. Likely strayed from the truth.

The Chance Vought F4U Corsair:http://www.warbirdalley.com/f4u.htm

Interestingly, the wings were bent at that weird angle because the propeller was so large that if the plane had straight wings the prop would scrape the ground.

And again I stray...
I too worked the F-4 (Phantom in my case). Also a bent wing bug sucker.
F-4Cs, Ds, Es, RFs, and Gs... every model the USAF flew, plus a couple of Navy versions, at least one Marine version, and one USAF model that was a test bed, for what I honestly don't know.
The original F-4 had fold-able winds so more could be berthed below deck an a carrier.
I have no idea why the USAF continued with fold-able wings.
