Why not flesh out some of the side characters? Sharkworld is full of fleeting sexy/naughty characters.. Waiters, nurses, the list is long.. Maybe the dirty modelling agent will be caught getting up to no good by the private eye and being locked up - or given the choice of being "trained" by Alancy & Florian?

Seem to remember some intriguing talk of a reappearance of the mermaid, just a thought but shark can always be relied on!!
