The English used in your games

Sure, the programmers might not be familiar with other languages but there are resources out there. I must confess that I was frankly embarassed by the poor spelling and English used in the game.
I speak both languages fluently so I guess that a translating programme was used for the various phrases.
There must be plenty of us out here able to help - just ask!

just a word in my defense, since my name is there for the english translation, however i noted that shark chose alot of xersis over my translation.

The thing is with the translation is that you can make it into an english game completely but to do so you have to change some of the original ideas put forward by shark.

For example on a couple of occasions i changed entire scenes wordings to make them sound proper in english, but meant that some of his orignal text was lost in translation. This may have been why he didnt use all of my text.

I do agree with wiggle in that sometimes the frenchlish has a certain charm when used in different spots.

This wasn't in regard to the most recent game crossy. This comment was posted in 2006 so it's for the older titles. Somehow we ended up with some grammar problems in the newest game (apparently due to the meshing?) but overall it is much better than the older translations.

Being from the UK and speaking a bit of French I am particularly happy with the translations. Direct translation of french phrases adds Gallic charm and should not be interfered with. As for translation programmes......my advice is - avoid. As we learned years ago 'gauche derriere' is not 'left behind' and the charm of the UK comedy programme Allo Allo was the mis translation of common phrases. Keep up the excellent work
