Good Morning Shark

I agree with you, that you have to set rules.
And all must read it.
But I think you should post the rules moore vissible.
Maybe as a Banner or a Separate part of the Forum Index.

And I think you should write also a part:Search and Read first before open a new topic. So you can minimize whats happen with HA3
dozen of single topics with the same theme.

greetings cruiser

Hi Cruiser! Much as I love to try to translate stuff...This time I failed badly. While what you wrote seems to be a well known German saying I am trying to guess what it means. Please help in English or French.

cruiser is right (no wonder, he's a German). It's a German sayer, word by word translated : "let the church staying in the village", the meaning is, not to do too much and therewith missing the original targets. Another saying with similar meaning , which maybe is more common: avoid to "pour off the baby together with the bath(water)"

Thanks again guys! Now I'll have to tell he she was correct after all. She said 'is it not "don't throw the baby out with the bath water"' and I'm the one who learned a little German many years ago. Choos - Bob

He, criuser, do you know, that the sayer with the church in the village is absolutely not one of us Austrians, but it's an original "Piefkinesian" sentence (such as:"to get the cow from the ice")

Go on, cruiser, you not have to take too much care of me. :nux: My first girlfriend was from the area around Bielefeld, I sometimes worked there, the Westfalians are nice boys! . Later on I spent a lot of time in Wuppertal, in the deepest Rhein-Ruhr-area. There happened a significant scene: A round of midle-management-guys celebrated someone's birthday and then we discussed a little bit about my open option, to move totally with my family to Wuppertal. I, having some reservations against that, asked the managers, if to the contraty they would like to move just and now to Vienna and 75% of the guys spontanously confirmed, they would do it. We Austrians well know, that we are such as a little brother, but we can live therewith without problems.

I just regret, that I'm not can remember for the moment a typical sayer from behind the mountains; I will brainstorm that with myself!

Hey cruiser, Arnulf, You wanna know, what a real problem is? I was born in Schleswig-Holstein near Hamburg and life since 1960 in Munich. Every time, I get acquainted with new people, 100% someone says: "scho wieder a Preiss!!!" That, sometimes, is a REAL problem. I think, Arnulf will now laugh loud. You're wellcome!
