Actually, "text" English is nigh-impossible to understand for those for whom it's not their first language. It's like If I went all, "q t dgo q no t ntindo xq ablas raro" ("text" Spanish) with you. Try, try parsing that line :)

thats true and we should not forget, that this is a french forum.

I for myself are german, most of the users here are french, german, spanish or italian i think. We all speak english because its a quite common language and because the most native english speakers dont speak a foreign language.

So I think it should be clear that we all try to use a most simple and clear english without abbreviations as we, not native speakers, in most cases dont know them.

Que te digo que no te entiendo porque hablas raro - pan comido
English it's even easier, really.
But in a forum, and with ten fingers, you don't need it - it's not a mobile phone, I suppose.
And none of them are first languages.

price for Almeida :D
But yes, with ten fingers to type, or even with five fingers for those with... uh, tendinitis... we should use proper language as a matter of respect for each other, don't we?

well i think writing proper English helps those who are not native speakers, many use translators and these translators to my knowledge cannot translate most abbreviations.
As far as using a language goes, how hard is it to use it properly?

i would also like to know...
and also i disagree with the comment added by nepolemo, most english users dont speak foreign languages WELL,i myself spead a small bit of german and a tiny bit of french(not great, but that's because of the horrible teaching system with foreign languages)

(sic)

If you choose to read through many of the posts on this site, bbvx included, you will observe that the majority of native English speakers appear incapable of writing coherently either with or without abbreviations.

Begin sentences with a capital....use a capital for the personal pronoun....etc.

Cheese101....What did you write? Please consider your use of your mother tongue; I wonder what your teachers had to contend with when they were trying to instil into you some basics of European culture.
