Theres a search button in the top right corner of the blog. The blog post giving more info of the story may have been lost when the old blogspot blog got unexpectedly shutdown and they had to move to Wordpress.

I think that particular blog may have been deleted. I see a lot of screenshots for LWT2 (which looks beautiful) but not a plot synopsis. A lot of the LWT2 stuff was also combined with articles about Eleanor 2 so it is possible that I missed something as I was skimming the articles and not fully reading them. I just wish LOP had separate pages for all of their upcoming games that consolidated all of the information we know so far about the projects from the blogs.

I appreciate the activity on the thread and I'm here to give some of those plot details I had once posted on the LOPblog. Please understand that I can't give any estimation on when the game will be ready - I really have no control over that and do not even know myself.

As for the plot, as some of you posted, the story takes place on a vacation in France. It is supposed to take place the very next summer, but it was difficult to find a model the right age for the baby after one year, so Charlie looks somewhere between about 3-5 years old, but please, just suspend your disbelief for that detail and imagine it is the next summer, or maybe two summers later. Anyway, the plot is that Justin has a super-wealthy cousin who lives in France, and his cousin has invited the family to stay with him for a week. Justin and Tracy decide to take Lisa with them so that they can have a little more free time while on vacation. The game play mechanic is mostly about competing for respect within the household. It's a close competition and both men are very attractive to all the women (Justin's cousin's wife is an Olympic figure skating champion): Justin is a stylish, successful writer, moderately wealthy and very athletic. Justin's cousin is also stylish and handsome, but is also extremely rich and powerful. Justin and his cousin compete for respect, and how the girls in the house react to them depends on who is most respected at any given time. The player can make dialogue choices, and complete minor quests to raise his respect levels relative to his cousin's. But interesting stuff happens whether Justin is most respected, or not respected at all. During the introduction to the game, you get to choose whether you cheated with Lisa in the first game (and so have a continuing relationship, versus you have not seduced her yet), and whether Justin and Tracy became swingers in the first game or not. Thus, some dialogue and options change depending on how you choose to continue on from the first game. I've probably said too much, so I will leave it there. None of what I said is a promise because even though I wrote the script, things may change as Leo codes it and we start play testing and trying to balance it out.

As for as expanding the first game, I would love to, but I doubt it is going to happen. The first game is already huge. I've had many of the ideas that others have suggested here, and I agree there is so much more that could be put into that game, but there are also things about that game that I want to change, and it may be better to start from scratch. Maybe we'll do a LWT redux one day and overhaul the whole game while keeping the essential elements. I'd love to do that, but I'm not sure if I want to do that INSTEAD of using that time and energy to make new games that are also awesome and full of the ideas like that... We'll see how my next projects are received.

I just finished a script with a friend of mine (a super hot Dutch girl, no shit, we're calling her Eve) about two sisters who want to use a man in their sister rivalry, and I think it will be a hit. But I'm an optimist by nature. I thought Get Me Pregnant and Stripper Pick-up would be hits as well, and I was wrong about that so I guess we will have to wait and see...

Hello iksanabot. What you said is very intriguing, and I really looking forward to put my hands on Tracy and Lisa... errrr no, on LWT2 . The wait is so loooong.
I would love to see an expansion of the first LWT, as many others have said, there is still so much room for new stuff (for example, Derek brings a lot in the story, a new challenger in the love triangle would have been super cool).
A LWT Redux ? I vote YES, YES and YES. Begin to write the story. Now. Maybe one day, I hope...
Stripper Pick-Up was a good game. Not the best free game it's true, but there were very good things in it. Maybe you were a little too ambitious for a free game, I remember it was obvious a lot of ideas were cut off. About Get Me Pregnant, I think that the game was too short. The two points of view is a super idea, and I really would like to see something like that in a bigger game (maybe in a LWT Redux, where you could choose between Justin's, Tracy's or Lisa's point of view... well just saying ), but the game is too limitated in actions, and the theme of pregnancy doesn't appeal to everyone. It was very well written, as always, but it didn't work on me, it's true.

i must say that what you said about lwt2 sound great,with those amazing visuals there is no doubt that it will be a massive hit

also i'm very glad that you didn't ruled out expanding or remaking the first game,that game is real gem,and even though i understand that you're looking for new challenges i really do hope that you'll find time and energy for remake,i'm sure it would be pinnacle of your impressive work so far

Both of those are perfectly good games so I don't want to be critical of either of them. However if I had to guess at why they weren't the hits you were expecting I would say that they both needed something in the opening to make their premise stand out a little better. Two examples of games that have what I'm talking about are "Hot Wife Tara" and "Casino of Passion". Both these games have a premise that immediately grabs people's attention and can be fully explored in the shorter story length of a free to play game. I can jump right in and the premise and short setup at the beginning are all I need to get excited about the game. "Get Me Pregnant" in particular made me think "this would be so much better if it were included as a small part of a larger game with some more buildup".

Your particular talents are in building tension and teasing the player through a slower burn and you're at your best when your story has a little room to breathe. I wouldn't worry too much about the shorter games that may not have gone over as well as you may have liked.

LwT 2 sounds really interesting. The respect element seems challenging. I'm looking forward it.

About another expansion to LwT 1... I'm against it. As you said, I'd rather see you spend the time and energy to focus on new games, than focus on simple expansions. Between an expansion and a totally new game, I definetely prefer the latter.

The problem with Get Me Pregnant is that it was too small, even for a free game. I'm a fan of cheating wifes in games, but the pregnancy theme isn't my cup of tea. Stripper Pick-up was a really good free game. I believe it was your very first game for LOP, wasn't it? It was a good start for you.

After hearing iksanabot's synopses of LWT2 I'm kind of leaning this way now too. Pretty much anything I would have wanted out of the expansion I have the potential to get in the sequel (and more). I would be very interested in seeing the redux at some point in the future though. I'd like to see what iksanabot would do if he took LWT and went a completely different way with it. I have a feeling that the project would morph into a completely new game by the time the process is over and I would be excited to see that.

As a general rule though I'm in still in favor of building off of existing games with expansions. The first expansion for LWT made so many improvements to an already great game. I don't want to imagine the possibility that iksanabot could have decided to focus on a new game rather than creating that amazing first expansion.

This is what excites me most about LWT2. I can't wait to see how the respect mechanic works.

I'm glad to see a move away from RPG mechanics. I always loved the mechanic in Date Ariene the best, where you had four stats that would increase or decease with choice selection (nice, sexy, funny and smart). You wanted to increase the stats but not too much as being funny or nice are good, but if you're too nice you get "friendzoned" or if you don't take anything seriously you're not considered very sexy. Raising some stats and not others would changed how the game played and how the woman reacted. I've always wanted to see a game use that mechanic with multiple girls, and each girl had different tolerances and reactions to increasing or decreasing different stats.

What I've always hated about RPG stats in games is that most of the time the numbers are arbitrary and as a player I don't know where I stand. I'm always left wondering "I've got 200 body, is that good or do I need more?" or something like that. This is especially true if there is no upper limit to the stat. I've always liked the 1 to 6 scale for stats in RPG's. 1 is pitiful, 2 is below average, 3 is average, 4 is above average, 5 is professional quality and 6 is best of the best and the absolute maximum, with a progressive scale that makes gaining a point exponentially harder as you progress up the scale. Whatever resource gains a level (such as experience or stat points or what not), you'd need twice as much to get from 1 to 2, three times a so much to get from 2 to 3, four times as much to get from 3 to 4 and so on and so forth. As a player I know exactly where I stand. If you make gaining a 6 very time and resource consuming to get, you also force your player to diversify their character rather than just getting as high as possible in all possible stats by going to the gym and then the library every day. The player has to choose between getting a character with a very nice body from working out but may not be very smart, or one that balances out the stats to do everything ok. It makes the player think more than just grind out all their stats to maximum by doing all the stat gaining activities all day and it increases replay value (one game I may go through as strong and dumb, the next I may go through as smart).
