Crane wrote:... But what does all this have anything to do with "right choices" in Lucas` case? If you choose him to be "extrovert" you`ll have "aggressive" answers and if you choose him to be "introvert" you`ll have "modest" answers. There are only a few choices regarding player`s choice about Lucas being comfort/discomfort but they only emphasize a little more Lucas` "extrovert/introvert" reaction. This has nothing to do with his "personality" has only to do with his (your) choice how to react after him losing his wife by death or by her being a bitch. This reaction does not confine or define his personality.
And the "right" answers are truly to his reacton to his lost. The differences between answers are logic, not related to his personality.

If I understood Kroq-Gar correctly, the problem with FM is just that: the correct answers ARE related to Lucas personality and the player has to stick to it for the whole game. It's more or less the same as in Dreaming with Elsa, but then the options were clearly 'romantic' or clearly 'sexual' so it was easier to keep on track. As you have explained above In FM you have a little more complex combination. OK, it's not about being simple-minded but about being willing to pay atention during long conversations.

But in Redemption for Jessica you just have to NOT choose the same type of response: you had to be funny, then supportive, then serious, then funny again... That's probably a more realistic approach, because all of us have 'complex' personalities and sometimes we use a kind word and sometimes a funny one, it's a balance. Maybe that's why Kroq-Gar liked it so much. In fact, I found RfJ easier than any other game made by Tlaero because in my first playthrough I was clicking almost randomly without paying too much atention to what I was saying (that's the way I usually play a game for the first time) and got the perfect ending.

And in Getting to know Christine, as in previous Tlaero & Phreaky's games, it was a matter of understanding the girl's personality and choose the right answer for that kind of girl. That was criticized by lots of people because it made the men look a bit weak and influenciable. So Tlaero decided to define a personality for the playing character, which lead us to this discussion

English is not my native language either. As JFR said "simpleminded" is an euphemism for "stupid" but i took it literally. Anyway, if i understood it right Kroq-Gar was complaining that "correct" answers were very similar to "wrong" answers. And for that he blamed "Lucas` personality" which was "too influenced by a female mentality". Which is not true.

ALL Lucas` answers (wrong or correct) are related to his personality. And Lucas has only one personality. Which is the correct/wrong answer depends on your choice regarding Lucas` reaction after his last relationship ended. So what does "female mentality" have to do with that?
Aggressive reaction, "aggressive" answers. Or the opposite.

if Kroq-Gar was referring to Lucas` choice of words (as i think he was) i think he should have blamed Lucas` culture and Lucas` intelligence not "female mentality".

EDIT: Sorry about Kroq-Gar`s name misspelling.

Lucas has one personality only, like anyone who is mentally and emotionally balanced. But at the start the players chooses his background and how he deals with it. So, at the start you choose what personality you'll play.
So, we presented you a game with 4 slightly different Lucas. I say slightly because independently of the path you choose Lucas remains basically the same man with the same values and moral code. That's why Miranda would fall in love for any of these 4 Lucas.
The secret of succeeding at the game is sticking by the initial path choice you made. If you choose that Lucas choose to keep to himself and not date, after Karen cheated on him, then your dialogue option should reflect that choice.

Although it is our intention to continue to give away our major games for free, we do have a pat.reon/tora site to help pay the bills. We do various perks for those patrons, including short stories that tell some of the background in the games. You won't ever need to be a patron to understand the games, but those who read the shorts will know more about our worlds and the characters within them than those who don't.

This month's perk is a short story in the Elsa-verse called "DwE: Multiplicity." It'll give you an idea what Elsa and Jason have been up to.

$10 patrons get access to this and all previous monthly perks, 8 of which are short stories (including Multiplicity).
$5 patrons get access to weekly images from Mortze, of which there are currently 26.
$1 patrons get weekly updates on the progress we're making on our next game.

In the past you had to have pledged before the start of the month to get a monthly perk. Now you get access immediately. If you enjoy our stuff and would like to encourage us to keep creating it, becoming a patron is a great way to do so.

Announcing the title of our next game

Mortze and I have been working on our next game for a few months now, and, if you're a patron, you've been able to see the progress. It's hard to precisely determine how long a game like this will be, but I'm estimating that we're currently somewhere between a third and half done. We're far enough into the game now that I'm finally ready to reveal a little bit about it. Let's start with the title:

Saving Chloe

This game is the culmination of the story arc that started with Dreaming with Elsa and continued through Redemption for Jessika and Finding Miranda. This is what everything has been building toward. Many of the characters from those games have parts in it.

I'm working super hard on this. I've taken much of what I've learned in all of my previous games and incorporated it into this one. There's some consensus that we've made good games in the past. I want this one to be fantastic.
Over the coming months, I'll reveal more about it.

Excellent move. I'd love to be able to say that I guessed it, but it was probably more wishful thinking. It was fairly clear from the sub-text of other games in the series that Chloe was probably as much of a victim of her father's machinations as she was an active participant.

Hopefully, saving Chloe will also deliver some comeuppance to Morland and Crow. Unless you are planning a sequel...

That's great news!
I can't wait to know more about Saving Chloe, I've just read the full post and I'm definitely intrigued.
Hearing that this will be a fantastic game from you both gives me shivers...

I know how Mortze is fond of Cloe, and I'm curious to see how things will turn out.

I'm quite sure it's too early to ask this question, but I'll try my luck: Is this going to be the end of the cycle?

Thanks for the great announcement!

John

When I sat down to make these games, I planned the story out through the end of Saving Chloe. I don't currently have plans for more. However, I'm not going to kill everyone...

So, will there be room for more games in this universe? Yes! I just haven't spent much time thinking about them.

Realize, though, that after DwE, everyone wanted me to make DwE 2. Had I done that, we wouldn't have gotten RfJ. Doing more games in this universe might happen. Or maybe I'll do new games with new characters in a different universe that people might like even more. We'll have to see. At the moment, though, all I'm thinking about is SC.

I absolutely love all the games by Tlaero and Mortze, and I'm really looking forward to the conclusion of the story. The storytelling is so compelling and the graphics are just beautiful, and I'm very intrigued to see how everything comes together at the end.

And so the circle of alphabetical relations is closing

I'm curious to see how the story will ends ... there are a lot of thing I'm dying to know

1) Games mechanism has always been "do right things and you will have sex with pretty lady" ... maybe with Chloe this cannot works.

I mean: the story can flow without the sex part, but the game has always been to reach a given score to have sex

2) Past games were about a girl with kind of "superpower" and "normal" guys. Chloe has no "superpower" as far as we know ... maybe the superpower will be on the guy's side this time?

3) The part of story for Xara has gradually increased during the 3 games ... I hope to get more of her

Whatever .... I really cant wait
