Has anyone figured out how to get the "Gift For Your Wife" achievement yet?

Dice is the plural for die. You don't have one dice, you have one die.

I'm sure I've seen this discussion about the word dice on another board as well, so I'll quickly give my two pence worth.

In English, the word dice can be used in both the singular and the plural. So you can have "a dice" or "a pair of dice".
The word die can also be used in the singular, but using dice in the singular is not wrong.

Sure, dice can be used as singular or plural, but note carefully what is said at http://www.grammarist.com/usage/dice-die/ "If dice is treated as singular often enough, we may simply have to accept that the word has changed. But, for now, careful writers still keep dice and die separate." Just because the illiterate maltreat a language doesn't mean all have to conform to their lack of understanding!

For the record I am English, not American, so it is a mistake to cite an American English dictionary as your source of reference. A British English dictionary will tell you the use of "die" as the singular is all but dead over here - viz: http://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/british/die, so maybe the lack of understanding lay elsewhere?

Strange nobody seems to have noticed the game with the dice is "City of Love" and not "Didi"... I'd been playing both and got them crossed. I still don't think it introduces any radical improvements to the genre though.

You don't seem to have played the game or you'd know two dice are used each time, so unless you really believe the plural is "dices" (which is the word that appears in the game), my original statement on that was therefore totally correct, regardless of which dictionary you look at.

I wont disagree with you because I am not English, but I find it strange that all the examples given for dice on the same site are all using the plural usage of the word, and I don't believe I read anything there about it having a singular usage.

I did find it a bit odd that you were talking about the dice rolling in the Didi thread, but find that the various games have enough cross-over in mechanics. Sometimes it is easier to just make comments all in one place. So I moved on.

Since City of Love isn't all that fresh in my mind, however, I really didn't recall the use of "dices" within that game (and you didn't mention it in your post). Instead your trailing comment just came off as "random-educational" commentary. Think that's more what caused myself and others to chime in.

Either way, interesting to note another difference in trends between American and British English.

We have belabored this point to boredom! Let's return to the topic of this post please.
Lou

This Washington USA male knows one die is a die and two or more are dice.
So too does the Google Dictionary.
die dī
noun
noun die
singular form of dice.
the cubical part of a pedestal between the base and the cornice; a dado or plinth.
a device for cutting or molding metal into a particular shape.
an engraved device for stamping a design on coins or medals.

Again Google dictionary. The verb form has a interesting slant (although I don't think it talks about the thrown cube) as does a game that uses them.
dice dīs
noun
noun dice plural noun dice
a small cube with each side having a different number of spots on it, ranging from one to six, thrown and used in gambling and other games involving chance.
a game played with dice.
small cubes of food.
verb
verb dice 3rd person present dices past tense diced past participle diced gerund or present participle dicing
play or gamble with dice.
cut (food or other matter) into small cubes.

Just got it
You have to dance at flake's club and go into the VIP room (which gets you the shower of cum achievement). Then when you do the dancing for the mobsters porn scene Elenor will show up and fool around with Didi. When prompted say unzip your pants.

Still have no clue how to get the "Living the Fantasy" achievement. It's not just for doing the medieval scene because that gives you "Lord of the Rings"

You must buy the medieval outfit, go to "make a movie", then click to imperial and do the scene with the medieval knight.

Aha! Got it now...

Now I've played through this a few times and got all the achievements, I can honestly say that I found the interactive scenes hugely disappointing.

I mean - you're a porn producer and all that ever happens really is that you get a blowjob a few times. Sure you can have sex with Didi - once she will be pissed off at you and the other time after the opera is cool.

Is that it? LAME

Surely a porn star who's doing group sex, bukkake, anal, lesbian bondage etc and a porn producer can think if something a little more exciting to do in their spare time?
