Mouse Control or Touch, attempt 2

(This really belongs in Projects, but when I tried it there I didn't get the cross section of players that I'm looking for. Squeeky gave me permission to run this poll here in the main games board.)

I'd like to get the opinions of anyone who's ever played a "Virtual Date With ..." game. If you could have one or the other, would you prefer the ability to control animations with mouse movements like in Coffee for Keisha, or would you rather touch support for tablets and phones.

Please resist the urge to turn this into another discussion about programming languages and the history of laptops. Keeping this on topic actively helps me make games. You'd rather help than hinder my efforts there, right?

Thanks,
Tlaero

About 15 months ago I bought a tablet for use overseas (less weight).
The touch screen was generally good for some navigation but I was not thrilled with it; sometimes screens could be expanded and others left me being “too careful” as to my touch.

Just a few months back I had to upgrade my mobile, my second experience with “touch”. For me the sensitivity is too high too quickly. On my laptop I have “minute” control, right to the pixel which I would not get with my fingertip. Until technology can show advancement then a mouse in some form is necessary for me.

Ms tlaero, I trust that this elicits the information that you seek.

Mouse control all the way. Like Squeeky, a mouse controls my input better than current touchscreens.

And again adding to what has been said here - mouse is much more controllable than pad. I've tried both (on the Macbook) and prefer mouse...

Mouse. IMO it offers better control.

Sure, mouse is the best for this sort of control situation, but my point is that sometimes a mouse is not an option -- is it not possible to have the best available touch control as well for mouseless situations? I don't know what is actually required to allow that, or even if it is practicable, but sometimes in life one has to go for a poor second best or go without!

I prefer mouse, but both options sounds good.

Greyelfsent me a PM of advice concerning my comment @ viewtopic.php?p=79904#p79904
I had asked him to post such thoughts but since that was a few days ago I quote him here:
The lack of sensitivity/fine control you found with both your table and phone is what allows modern screens to support multi-touch, it is a deliberate design feature as the finger covers more area than a stylus does.

There are modern screens with high control/sensitivity like the galaxy note 4.

My reason is for tlaero’s awareness (and I’d assume she is aware anyway) and NOT to promote aside discussions.

I got a question, she may be stupid, but with my lack of programming skill, it seem good: is it possible to do both in the same game?? At the start of the game, you choose the type of control you want to use!

thank in advance

On consideration I really think that we have to understand tlaero's motives a little deeper.
My son has a laptop which has both technologies on board.

Greebo alluded to such a point a few comments above.
Bundle that with what I cited from Greyelf.

I really would not understand tlaero seeking a poll on one technology or the other without have the realisation that there could be a blend of the two.
I personally feel that she is wondering which technology demands her most efforts, maybe she is wondering if the "touch" demand is worthy to revise her Adventure Creator utility at this point in time.

Wasn't a fan of the motions in CwK, and I am a big fan of playing these games on my phone for, uh, reasons.

but it looks like I'm in the minority, so appeal to the majority I guess :p. I just won't do it in my games
