That version has been working just fine for me. You may have gotten an incomplete download. Did you try to download the game again? It looks like he has made good progress on the game since the last public post. I hope this means that a new public version is in the making.

If by avs you mean antivirus program, try using that program's options to set up an "exception" folder (one that you can download to where the Antivirus program doesn't check).
