After my last desaster here in the lagoone i deleted all new projects with the new style.
I am back to the old "Tlaero-style" with little changes. We have a long weekend and i will send a dating game. It is a Beta-V99-Version.
In the final-version are all texts in english.

This game was inspired by the film Groundhog Day. Yes!!! The perfect base for a scenario of a dating game.

You have to manage a szenario to get a date with the hot Steffi.

You have a intro. (german)
you have a mainpart 1.(engish)
You have a mainpart 2.(german)
you have datepart 1.(german)
you have a datepart 2.(german)

in a later version all parts are in english. Sorry again for my very bad english.

The intro is easy.

Not ever the shortest way is the best way.

In mainpart-1 are 12 stories. In 7 stories you find fuck-szenes.
You need 6 fucks to run to main part-2.

You have 3 options to play.

1.Search the way .. unique stories
You see all stories and have then minimal 6 fucks.
Easy game. I prefer this way..

2. Search the way .. Random stories
The stories are gamble. It is middle hard....to have more then 5 fucks.

3. Search the way ..Random stories/unique sex
The stories are gamble. Every fuck is unique in his counter.
That's hardcore!

You see a counter for your fucks.

in mainpart 2 you need 0 or one mistake before you can start the date part.

The rest is fun.

Hi Josefus

I've tried playing this but once again it's very difficult to understand even the bits in English. Google Translate isn't up to the task.

Please consider taking Greebo up on his offer to translate for you (assuming he is still willing) - I'm sure it would be a great improvement for those of us who don't understand German as I feel we're missing some of the story because Google Translate is not subtle enough to express your ideas.

I find that as I go through your games I'm thinking things like "Ok, so far", "Hmmm, yes. I think I understood that bit", "Oh well, I'll click here and maybe the next screen will make this bit clearer", "Where the hell are we now?", "Who????", "Well she's got a really nice ass but...???", "Game over! - Was that a bad end then?"

It's obvious you put quite a bit of effort into creating your games so surely it would make sense to share them with the widest possible audience?

I totally agree with kessie8yl. I really want to get as much out of your game as you put into it, but the language barrier is stopping me.

looks great, hope you are able to get a translator so we can fully enjoy your hard work.

Whenever something does not work start a Fuck-Story on the beach. Then it's changed in the Main Story continues. You do not need text!

Translate?? I think that is a hard work too. Every body can make it. In der Textfiles are the position for english text too. To time is there german text.

I take your point about the French games - although I have in the past asked the developers to get someone to translate them they either ignored me or refused. They all seem to be text-based games, so maybe there is more work involved - I'm not a big fan of text-based games anyway and only asked if they would be translating them because I was so bored and there was nothing new around at the time.

Of course we can blindly click through your games until we've seen all the pictures but without the words it isn't very entertaining - just a random series of pictures... As good as your artwork is, it does not make a game by itself.

I must admit your English is much superior to my German, but I do have problems understanding you sometimes. "To time is there German text" is just one example that doesn't actually make any sense in English. I'm sure Greebo or someone in the lagoon would be happy to help you, although you may have to explain in "proper" German the meaning of some of the German slang you use as a literal translation will always fail to pick up the actual meaning of those.

Anyway, that's my opinion, take it or leave it - I won't keep going on about it now

What happened here is no language problem. Download counts are good. I'm happy!

I've always said. Anyone can translate my games. I would never refuse or prohibit it since. The Russians and Chinese not asked. . They translated it!

Now a small word to the English speaker and reader: I am a German man and most of the games i played are in englisch, ( from the French ones I let immediately the fingers) I am therefore forced to have 4 translations programs in backround. Yep, it is more work when you don't understand the language, but this is for us differently speaking everyday life, now is a game not in your language and you begining to crying I can for firefox the "ImTranslator" recommend.
I am glad that games developers in German gives...... Sorry guys, but I had to get rid of this, peace and lg from me NaLogan

don't mistake our input for "crying" (not sure if that was a translator based word or not). Josefus created a game that includes English, and posted his release and replies in English, so English speaking players are going to respond. I have no problem with games in different languages, it is a diverse world, but if you include English text, expect English feedback. everyone wants to enjoy his game so we suggested better translation, something that the many of the games on the site already provide.

Sorry but I have to contest this - First of all Shark's games are issued in 3 languages right from the start. As for the argument that "German speakers have to put up with translating games from English" there seems to be a particular problem with your games due to the use of so much German slang it is not possible to translate directly into English and retain the meaning.

In my last post I gave you just one small example of a phrase you translated into English that makes no sense whatsoever. It wasn't even the only sentence in that post I could have chosen.

As for the other poster's comment about "crying" - It should be very clear to anyone reading my post in full that my intention was to suggest a way for your games to be enjoyed by a wider audience. I have tried online translation and with some games it works well enough but, for the reasons already given, it doesn't work with yours.

Downloads do not equal enjoyment - Anyone posting a game in here (and presumably other boards) is going to get a lot of downloads but those download figures will include people like me who have downloaded the game, attempted to play it once and will never look at it again. As for comparing the "download leaders" with people like Tlaero and lessonsofpassion, etc, surely it cannot have escaped your attention completely that the games you mention are mostly played online and do not need to be downloaded? Could that have something to do with those figures, you think? In any case, none of your games have come anywhere near those standards. A more accurate benchmark for you might be the number of positive comments you receive in the lagoon compared to other developers, seeing as those are posted by people who have actually played the games.

I am sorry that you seem unable to accept constructive criticism but that is another important function of the lagoon. However, I can see that I am wasting any my time, so this will be my very last comment on the subject.

Well, to avoid the neccesarry use of translation programs, I'm writing this post bilingual^^

Josefus, while your game does seem promising, it failed to deliver some kind of "quality" value.
I really don't mean to harm you or your work and I understand your view, that the art of making games should speak for itself, but think that even more people could enjoy your work, if they are able to understand the language.
I am offering, that I would revise your German text and translate it into English, so that more people are able to play that game to it's content.

Josefus, ich finde, das Spiel hat zwar potential, aber für mich strahlt es keine "hochwertige" Qualität aus.
Ich will dich oder deine Arbeit damit in keinster Weise angreifen und ich verstehe deine Gedanken, dass das Spiel als Kunst für sich stehen sollte, aber ich denke, dass noch mehr Leute deine Arbeit geniessen könnten, wenn sie es verstehen würden.

Ich habe schon mehrere Deiner Spiele gespielt und da Du schon mehrfach erwähntest, dass es Dir sehr wichtig ist möchte ich mich an dieser Stelle auch mal für die ganzen Spiele von Dir bedanken, auch wenn manche leider nicht mehr als Download zur Verfügung stehen. Ich persönlich finde Deine englischen Texte immer sehr charmant, aber ehrlicherweise muss ich auch ab und zu ein bisschen grübeln bis ich diese verstanden hab. Und das obwohl ich Deutsch und Englisch relativ gut beherrsche. Ich finde auch, dass die ganzen Spiele einen großen künstlerischen Aspekt besitzen, dennoch ist es doch für keinen Künstler eine Schande gute Ratschläge anzunehmen. Allgemein sollte man hier nicht jedes Wort auf die Goldwage legen, denn ich denke die wenigsten hier werden Englisch als Muttersprache sprechen. Wie auch immer, auf jeden Fall vielen Dank für Deine ganzen Spiele.

I'm afraid I must express disagreement with this statement. From my observation of the posting population of the lagoon I would suggest that a very large proportion of them have US English as a first language while a smaller number like myself have UK English as their mother tongue. Of the rest many have English as a major second language, in fact it would not be far from the truth to consider English to be the "lingua franca" of the lagoon, even though shark himself is French.

Personally, I have a good grasp of both German and French, though my understanding outstrips my ability to express myself in either language -- still a memory I cherish is of a time when I was on holiday in Austria when I came across a French guest at the Pension attempting to communicate with Momma Mitterer, the mother of the family the Pension belonged to. Neither could understand the other and neither understood English, so I found myself, an Englishman, translating straight from French to Austrian and back again as the French lady explained that she wanted to have a deckchair on the balcony so she could enjoy the sun while she read a book.

Not everyone can do that sort of thing, and some even have problems expressing themselves in their own first language, so sometimes those of us who have some degree of ability with languages feel that we would like to help those who have difficulty understanding. Automatic translators and spell checkers can only go so far, and my own view is that a bad translation into my own language can be a form of torture and puts me off.

Having played around with "6 steps to a date" I am inclined to agree with what I think Josefus tried to say at one point, that it didn't really matter what was said -- the game appears to be simple to the point of being almost mindless, just a means to getting to some extremely well executed juicy animations -- kudos to Josefus for that. As for the gameplay, it is puerile enough to make one want to scream -- I find it highly reminiscent of some of the Japanese hentai games that I have clicked blindly through in the past, not understanding a symbol of Kanji. "6 steps to a date" could be in Sanskrit, Minoan B or ancient Sumerian for all it matters -- maybe it would be better if it was.

This is not true of "Double Sick" or "Lura" or similar (less downloaded?) excellent examples of Josefus's work -- they deserve top quality English translation if it can be achieved, so that they can be properly appreciated!

There is a big difference between major second language and mother tongue...

Perhaps we shoud start a poll and see how many native speaker we have here...
