To play the game grab the gargoyle program here: http://code.google.com/p/garglk/

The game file grab here: http://www.mediafire.com/?7w812cbo6coh9aa

Gasparillo is a game focused on survival with some adult elements, so do not go in expecting a sex extravaganza. Also I will not be giving out any spoilers/hints.

Enjoy.

Could somebody please drop a hint as to how you actually open the coconut? I've got the husk off but can't do anything else. In the inventory I have wood, coconut, small stick, dead fish, If there is anything i'm missing please tell me as the game doesn't save for some reason so I have difficulty navigating around and everytime I've stepped in the shallows I'm getting eaten by shark and can't restore it.

i've only wandered around once and I tried using the stick on the coconut before I actually broke the coconut, losing its milk. At this point I gave up for the time being, but the next time I thought I might try sharpening the stick on the stone before attampting to poke the coconut's 'eyes' out. Good luck!

yep...

You need to sharpen the stick and then use it on the cocout thats all i will tell ya ;-)
I also gave up after that after dying 2 times...
I like these games but only if they are heavily adult orientated personally.
Otherwise i loose interest too fast when its too hard, lazy me.
Too bad cause i loved the peril one...but game on for the rest of ya have fun!

I found a clam but I can't get it open. Does anyone else know how?

I have made it to day two. I am guessing you need graph paper and to make a map for this game to make any sense, but I don't find it interesting enough to go through the effort. Here is what I have found so far:

You can pick up green coconuts, dead fish, you can push the log in the jungle and get a grub, you find a tree with a hole and can stick the stick in it (Mine was not sharpened at the time and I have not found it again), you can look at your watch for the time. (Probably important) If you dive in the shallows you can find a clam or get attacked by a shark. Found multiple pieces of driftwood.

At the rock:
sharpen stick with rock
smash clam on rock (then eat meat)
smash coconut on rock (to remove hush)
stab coconut with stick (drink coconut)

Before the bluff you can x shrubs:
x fruit
eat fruit
As you wander around a pig appears but I couldn't figure out how to interact with him. After a while he says your boring and flies away.

At the bluff:
You can examine hole but I can't figure out how to enter it

At night:
I slept on the beach
Something stalks you in the jungle so I went to the beach

Edit Moderator : thanks using the spoiler button when giving direct clues
I have no idea what to do from this point. I am finding more driftwood and coconuts, I am guessing they random spawn.

Eat 2 fruits and get a game hint at the cost of a game over (to spare you:
search the shallows in the north for a ship's mast, use the dead fish to ward of predators.
) Eat 3 or more fruits to get a sexy surprise.

I've found a way to the bottom of the hole on the bluff.

There's a place in the shallows, not sure which one for sure, where you can dive underwater and find a cave that leads to the bottom of the hole on the bluff.

good job so far. On a unrelated note the next game I work on will more than make up for the minimal sex in this game ;)

I've been enjoying the puzzles which do seem nice and logical so far.
Here's how i've got on....

I drew a quick map Image
this together with the other players hints gives away most of what you need.

The coconut and the clam move after you use them up but keep doing laps of the beach for the coconut respawn to meet your water needs. I haven't worked out where the clam goes to and searching for it is hard work with the shark. In the reef you will find a burrow housing a certain creature to meet your hunger needs safely if you can work out how to get him.

Day 5 brings a boat to the shore that you can see from the north bluff. What I can't work out, is how to signal it. Anyone got any ideas?

Wow you actually have gotten further than anyone who has played thus far...nice. I did say I wont give any hints but I will give a vague one re: day 5 and signaling the boat, there are 2 ways to do it, one sort of abstract and one more logical. Also I have a question for you that I will send via pm because the question itself is a semi spoiler, judging by your map (which is great) there may be something you missed and by missing it you shouldn't be alive on day 5

Also to save people some frustration, the clam once used is gone for good and unlike the coconut/driftwood/tiny dead fish it will not respawn elsewhere.

Yikes!

Sorry, I got my map wrong. With some helpful pointers from the author I amended it a bit. I get too scared of sharks to explore too far in the water but I've added some more blue bits to the map, including an interesting area that I hadn't found before.

Yeah, at the wreck you can use a dead fish to keep an eel at bay and get a scouring pad. Also, moving a log to get a grub which can bait a mouse you can stab inside to dead tree. Don't eat either uncooked.

Ok, I'm stuck. There are 2 things I believe I need to do, one is to catch that lobster which I have drawn out and the second is to light a fire for cooking and 2 other things I can think of but won't mention here.
