Released new version of Getting to Know Brenda (V3_1)

Date #3 is finished and so is the game.
Notes:
1. Stopped publishing the Flash (.swf) version due to size, lack of stability and inconsistent behavior in different browsers. The Windows Projector file (.exe) is big (87 MB) but it has the correct version of the Flash player embedded in it and runs well if full screen is used.
2. You must have the folder named media in the same folder as the game file and it should contain around 120 .png files.
3. This is the final version of the game. It's been challenging and fun.

As suggested, action choices were made 'hot spot' driven while leaving dialog choices textural

Converted single frame animations from flash alpha to true video cross-fade
(Hopefully) fixed problem with some audio not stopping when it should

This game is well worth your attention.

Over in Projects Cugel notes that this was a journey in exploration in which he had to figure how to blend a variety of media. Certainly there are aspects with which we could find fault, but remember that this is a first time effort.

Prior to offering advices please check out the "Getting to Know Brenda" thread in Projects, it may save you and others a lot of valuable time.

The graphics are great, there are some challenges

This is, first and all, a very exciting project. So don't take my criticism as something negative. After all, ArianeB has still some bugs and they are at version 6.3.

2.1 still has some bugs (or inconsistencies) in the first date.

Clicking on the microwave in the kitchen will open the motorcycle Internet page Brenda was looking at (unless this is one of these brand new micro wave ovens that can fetch information from the net this is a bug).

If you go too fast in the topless scene, Brenda ask to start over again but suddenly she is wearing her sweater again.

I'm afraid that the fonts are still unreadable in Firefox when opening the html page (not when directly opening the swf file).

But I can only agree with Squeeky, this is a very promising project indeed.

No issues using IExplorer with The Flash version (.html, .swf):

@Felix: the motorcycle Internet page on the microwave was probably just a print-out from the laptop

I can tell you've put A LOT of HARD work and thought into it.

A very good game, as far as i could go. But actually, i haven't find solutions for the travel choice.... she drinks vodka, i supose that i must keep desert travel for the last travel but something goes wrong..

I have tried :

She doesn't like the garden, what ever hour i go...And she never wants to swim naked, too...

Tres bon jeu, aussi loin que je peux aller. mais là, je suis bloqué au niveau 2 du jeu. je pense avoir compris qu'il fallait faire boire la madme (vodka), qu'il fallait visiter le desert en dernier, mais apres ca....
J'ai testé a peu pres toutes les combinaisons logiquemais quelle que suoi l'heure, elle n'aime pas le jardin, et ne semble pas vouloir non plus se baigner nue. OINK ! Le vie est trop injuste !!! Si qqu'un a un indice, je suis preneur !!

Ah! The order of events! And the Alcohol! Most important. Consider too her rejection of wearing something flimsy, only had one drink!!

flying_circus, make sure you get the camera and the pocket bathing suit before you go out or else nothing works right.

Nice one. I've been waiting for a while for a chapter 2.
what i missed was some actual choices of the physical interaction on the 2nd date, like we had on the first. touching her body was awesome. on the 2nd date it seemed like i was always clicking "forward".
I also missed having actual sex
hope there's a 3rd date soon...Thanks for all the work invested.
