Found more of a glitch than a bug. When selecting the 'I like Pornos' option during the Steak dinner (at least during the steak dinner) the text at the bottom of screen is 'I like graphic novels...'

I would have thought sex scene.

1. at the pool after drinking beer when she is only in panties, i suggest 'Suggest taking off her panties'.
2. In next pic she says she'll do, but then it goes back to 1


on same track, if you go into the pool, it should be skinny dip, but she'll wear a bikini instead...

I played it a lot... Many years ago, and loved it! So thanks for making a new version!!!
When I came back home I played it I think 10 times so far and I had no problems. If I could give a suggestion I'd say to make your choice in menu to stay enlighted (hints on/off - Skip - After Skipping), but it's defintely good this way too.
As already said it's a great idea to use mouse wheel to go back... Even if it could be a sort of "cheating"!

Uploaded a version 0.91 for the PC, which encompasses some of the fixes to the bugs found so far. Very minor changes, probably not worth redownloading.

Every bug so far has been minor ones. That's good news, it means I am on schedule to release it everywhere later this week.

I don't know if this is a bug, but when i use the "back" button (for example because she rejected to take off her shirt and the date ends), then there are sometimes the situations that i kinda improved to her. I choose another option and suddenly on the next picture she did that what i demanded to her before (variables, for example she isn't wearing a shirt anymore). This bug seems to be common, because it also happens on your html version, when i use the "back" button of the browser. (I think it hast something to do with the variables, that they increase for some reason).

Although have to say, still a great game. Just curious, are you planning for anything new in the future?

when i walk with her on the beach and we´re talking, normally i can take her hand when she asks me some questions. But there wasn´t any hint about it. I knew it from your html version and clicked with the mouse on her hand and it worked, but nothing like "take her hand" was written there

Also (I'm not as sure about this one) photographing ariane at lookout point, I take a photo of her in panties by the car she asks what we can do to make it sexier, there are no options but the game assumes i want her in a thong and we have to go home.

I have noticed some oddities using "back" myself, but that is how Renpy does things and there is not much I can do to debug it. Since back is sort of a cheat, there isn't anything to debug.

HTML was completely unpredictable when using "back", while Renpy is designed with back in mind so it keeps track of changing variables better. One way to demonstrate this is in random situations like "spin the bottle". In HTML if you did not like the result you could go back and spin again. In Renpy, you practically have to start the game over again to get a different random outcome.

The romantic beach scene was one of the more difficult scenes to translate into Renpy, basically I couldn't. So I just changed the rules. In the "classic" version you could click the text links to answer her rhetorical questions or find the hidden link in the picture (which is the right answer). The new HTML version did not hide the picture links. The Renpy version, is now click anywhere but the links and you will be fine.

Clicking the links do open up some dialogue that is new to the Renpy version, but when that dialogue is done it returns to Ariane asking the same question again. This unfortunately is how links in Renpy work, they are designed to provide definitions to words, then go back to where you left off. That is an unsolvable bug, but from the game perspective, you lose romance points by answering those questions anyways.

Both of these are not bugs, but just awkward dialogue I should address. The two versions of the Cabaret scene are completely separate in the code. With Rebecca, Ariane acts surprised that Rebecca would bring you two to a strip club, and without Rebecca, Ariane acts surprised that YOU would bring her to a strip club. The text is practically the same, so maybe a pass at rewriting it is in order.

On the thong front, this is the point in which if conditions are met, Ariane removes her panties. In your case, conditions were not met. I'll take a pass at making the dialog less harsh there.

Nice work, Ariane. I definitely consider you to be the creator of the genre I play in and the original Date Ariane to be the game that started it all. I must not have played the 10th anniversary edition enough, because I'm noticing changes in dialog and options that I don't remember. Cool stuff.

I do remember not liking the changed Ariane in 10th Anniversary, but I'm over that now. The improved graphics look great and she is wonderful. This became especially evident to me when I went to the Gallery and saw her original image. Yeah, good stuff for 2004, but I'm glad you redid her. The animation with her on top in the bed is exceedingly well done. It's a significant improvement over the original. I like the sounds too, though I know that's controversial (many people don't like them in these games) and a pain to do (I hate doing the sounds...).

I'm still a little torn on Renpy, but it too is growing on me. I liked the original "find a hotspot" aspect of the game, but I've backed off on that a bit in my own games as well (ie putting a border on the window if there's a hotspot to find so people don't search unnecessarily).

Does Renpy allow you to disable the "back" functionality? I think it hurts you more than it helps. I saw a lot of places where I think the variables got messed up. Things like her saying "another dance" on the first one, or music continuing to play when it should have stopped, etc. I suspect that's from me using "back." With a quick save and a large number of regular saves, I don't think you really need back. Sure, it's a little easier to choose the wrong trivia answer, hit back, and try again, but quick save, answer, quick restore, answer again works just as well if the player is careful.

It's fun to go back and play this again. Thanks for all the work that I know went in to doing it!

Hot spots are definitely doable in Renpy, I use them twice in this version, once at the dress shop and once on the basketball court. I seriously considered going "old school" and redoing the couch make out scene in hot spots and making it optional in settings so you can do either hot spots or buttons. Ultimately, it would be too hard and settled on buttons in close proximity to where the hot spot would go.

Pressing H at any time will remove the buttons from view. Also if you want a good laugh press L.

Music was a pain again as it needs to be royalty free, so I had to cover all my legal bases, and only had a limited library of music to choose from. Next game: No Music! Some of the extended music play after dancing is on purpose, especially before dinner. After the introduction, try dancing, then go back to the couch and read poetry.

Freesound.org is where I got all my sound effects from. I know some would not like it, and there is a volume control in the Options menu to turn them off if you want. I think it adds an interesting detail to the game. Most of the 30+ sounds are ambient, just to set the mood like the cricket sound when using the telescope or the street noise while driving, or the crowd noise in the nightclub. But the little details like the spinning bottle or the rolling die are fun too.

Seeing what you, Lady T, Super, and Shark (I've omitted a ton, please forgive me), go through to keep your games current or provide something new, adds significantly to my gratitude to each of you. I cannot slight those that do graphics either (Rastifan, Ehlanna, RK, Fleet, Wolf, Mortze, Dito, and Shark (RK, Fleet, Wolf, and Shark do both, even more impressive)).
