But what I don't understand is how this could be posted 2 weeks ago "I asked he prior to getting offsite and he told me it is one time only and lasts indefinitely."

and now this on the site itself:

Clearly, if this was just for 1 month, even if the work is good, it's really not worth it... And the worst is that it was clearly stated that this was a one time payment (still present on the site though)...

I also hope to get access granted again...
maybe for new users, if this is clearly stated as a one month fee, he should lower a little the price...

To be frank, if chaotic wants this to genuinely be a one time fee then it seems an easy problem to solve - just allow those people who have paid to have their accounts remain active!

I've paid for this as well and whilst it's been OK and I would be happy enough if there continued to be semi-regular updates, it's not worth it for the only the content there now.

no not 20 i actuly had offsite for close to 60 or so days w/ only 1 payment...... even though it was not a glitch as i first assumed it was, i can't explain it guess i was luck

the consumer side of me says either reinstatment to offsite or money back, reinstatment i can see happening but not money back, remember his main reason off the "one time" payment was cause he was moving or something. i know at my work when something like this happens we have to give some compensasion to the custmer

What I don't understand is why Chaos is still advertising it on the site as "One off" payment when it is now clear that he knows it is not.
There are laws about that sort of thing... It will cannot do his reputation any good to let more people fall into this trap now that he knows about it.

OK. Surely this is still chaotic's site and not the billing company's - even if they're providing a user account management service as well?

Epoch is an Internet payment service provider - they enable the collection of payments - for a fee. They don't decide who has access and for how long, they just collect $19.99 from us.

Chaotic as the owner of the site decides who has access and manages the site. If he wants his subscribers to have access to the site forever for a one-time fee then it's his choice and should be easy for him to enable. In fact a cursory read of epochs faq suggest this is possible.

How do I manually add customers to my website?
Username and Passwords may be manually added by logging into www.epoch.com and going to the "Client Tools".

Come on chaotic, get it sorted ;-)

Part of the reason I joined Offsite was because it was a one-time payment that promised continued new & interesting content.

That's a promise that he made to me, the consumer. I support him through the VIP area w/ a smaller, monthly payment.

I don't have an e-mail handy, but maybe those of us who paid via paypal for the VIP site can contact him through PayPal?
