Because, like Ariane, Chaotic and a few others, its creators learned how to craft games with a decent story-line before Indie game-writing became seen as a route to making money quickly and the market got flooded with second rate tat. There are plenty of good game writers out there, but it is becoming much more difficult to sort the wheat from the chaff.
Most of the best adult games are replayable games with adult content, and not just shagfests.
