That site is designed only for Windows IE. You do know that we live in 21 century and alternative browsers and operating systems exist?

FF2.0.0.20, FF3.6.4 and IE.8 return the same result noted in the immediately preceding comment by 60nowise.

A view of the page source shows something akin to CSS but in typical MS "jargon".

IE.8 offered me a backward compatibility which proved ridiculous.

It is time that MS realised that is is NOT "Big Brother", stop forcing developers to program to apparent OS parameters and provide a sound base Operating System.

It is very apparent to me that none of us are going to get anywhere with this "game", if that is what it is.

I recommend no further wasted comments be added. If no-one can prove otherwise we might save fruitless comment by locking this.

The only remotely acceptable thing would have been if this had been described as "Only suitable for IE x.x" in the original posting...

Yes, such statements are a cop-out, but at least it would have been an honest one and the rest of us could have just moved on.

What a total waste of everyone's time.

Start there, it should even work in FF. It appears that the author worked in Frontpage which generated MS VML tags (a predecessor of SVG). On all but the first page the links are also put in plain HTML as an alternative to VML, so if you start on this link it looks like it works (although I haven't clicked through the whole game, the site is just too slow...).

Thanks TheBrain, you saved me a lot of agony as I was was about to post something similar as well as yell at all the FlamerFox users. Now, I just have to yell!:p

Note: I've had trouble with this game with both IE and FireFox, each with different issues. The real problem here, is not the browser but the author use of piss-poor coding. This is also why I really can't stand by Chaotic's work as his code is often full of bugs and is designed to work with only one particular browser, FireFox. That, and he stole all his backgrounds from a copyrighted source...

But enough about that, if you really want to play this you'll find a way... it just may not be worth your attention.

If the author wants to keep making games like this, he should obviously take it a learning experience and listen to the users feedback to work on improving his skills. Even the harshest of criticism can be good criticism and I sincerely do not mean any personal offense to shaggyxxxxxxxxxx.

From the link which you posted slight above, and re-quoted here:
http://shaggyxxxxxxxxxx.racyspace.com/i ... age418.htm
I have made an edit within the opening comment of this thread which should save a lot of anguish.
I note in comments that several have been negative about its quality as a game. I'd have to agree but had we had "Projects" back when this was posted "shaggy" may have had plenty of guidance to take his initial concept into a quality level.
