Regarding the "The Sims" you may want to check out a game called "Singles: Flirt Up Your Life!" or its sequel "Singles 2: Triple Trouble." http://www.singles-the-game.com/

Of course, there are also mods and expansions for those games to further expand on the experience.

For Hentai games, I'm more of a fan of games that have an additional gameplay element in them aside from reading one chapter after another separated making a series of Yes/No choices that require the right combination to reach the Happy End. A simple example would be "Maid's Story." Though the Japanese seem to have a rather perverse take on sex that may be a bit to explicit for some people.

I do enjoy Goblinboy's work very much, but, to me, both "School Dream 3" and "Meteor" both feel like they're complete the way they are, even if I'm not happy with "Meteor's" ending. He writes an incredible amount of detail for the player, with a good number of options to explore. Though I feel that if he bumped up the media aspect of his games with animations and music, that those things might somehow detract from the game.

Regarding dating sims, I do like, the 100 days to accomplish your goal by building your stats and learning more about the prospective girls. But even then there are a few terrible versions out there as well. I still think Leonizer's "LoP2" is one of the best in that regard. I did also enjoy his twist on that with his "500 series."

Finally, there are the Virtual Date games which seem to be in abundance on these boards. I'll just say that "ArianneB" is the best, and I'm waiting for someone to top her work.

There are many different times of games out there, and I honestly can't say that combining different elements is such a good idea, that's not to say "it can't be done and done well." What I do like, as evidenced from the games I listed, is more options. More places and activities to explore. Let me be curious and discover new sexy secrets!

Great discussion, thanks everyone.

I believe that the work (time and frustration) involved in trying to reach that level of game play would require a team of at least 12 more to succeed. I do not think it is reasonable to expect this unless it was a commercial endiver. I was involved in a game project years ago, with 6 of us it almost did not get off the ground because we all had to make a living at the same time.

That's sort of what I'm talking about. It would obviously take a big team (or a whole lot of time) to really create a game like I'm envisioning...but I'm sure it would sell. Maybe not on the scale of C.O.D. etc., but like I said before, two of the biggest 'entertainment' markets are video games and 'porn' (I don't like to use the porn tag, but I'm including erotica and other adult themes).

I can certainly see where companies like Nintendo, Capcom, Konami etc. might be leery of of venturing too deep into the adult market, as most of their other marketing is towards kids. But in the last 10 years, it's clear to see that there are plenty of games targeted to the 18+ market because of violence...although, I'm sure they don't complain when younger kids buy their games.

But video game design is one of the most up-and-coming careers...at least I see it being offered in more and more collages. I would hope that some company, who is already in the adult market, might take a leap and put some money into designing some great adult games. I'm not sure what it would take to get those games licensed for use on consoles, because that would really help them...but PC gaming is still big.

Maybe, if someone did have some success with a good adult game like we're dreaming of...maybe the big companies would take notice and broaden their horizons.

After all, I think it's a sad commentary on modern society that violence is so much more acceptable than sex.

it doesnt have alot of depth but visually "Bonetown" is a pretty good game but its not free unfortunatly.

playforceone.com has a nice selection of games also and gamesofdesire.com but i think everyone here is on the lookout for what your after.

Your prolly gonna have to look more towards the japanese market for the best stuff since they seem more into it at the mo and are leading the way again unfortunate that alot of titles dont come translated or are badly subtitled but theyre in the right direction with titles such as "sexy beach 3" and various other 3D titles.

Bone Town is ok, but is more like Grand Theft Auto than the kind of relationship game I am interested in. I thought 7 Sins had a lot of unrealized potential, but it was more like what I am searching for than Bone Town.

Yes, I would be willing to pay big dollars for the right game if it is close to what I want and offers real re-playability. I purchased Bone Town more to support the developers than for anything else.

I received Sims 3 as a gift several months ago. I had played other Sims games and didn't enjoy them. I found that with add-ons and mods Sims 3 can be made quite sexy, though it still isn't possible to view the actual sex act - it all takes place under a blanket or is hidden in some other way.

Space Sirens 2, an old sex game developed by Pixis (no longer in business), was pretty good and challenging. But sex was the only interaction the player could have with the game.

I am familiar with the Singles games, especially Singles 2: Triple Trouble. I have played that game quite a bit.

I think with some help Leonizer might be capable of producing what we are seeking. But, I bet it's a money issue again. He can probably make more money with the kind of short games he is producing now than one very long game. He would need funds to carry him over while he devotes his time to the long game.

I agree, LOP2 in one of the best dating games.

Some of those 100 days to ... Japanese games remind me of Lemmings in that to win you really can't afford to make any mistakes. I know exactly what you mean about the goblinboy SexVilla combo. SexyBeach does require that you keep asking girls on dates but it is hardly complex. Personally I found SD3 to be greatly enhanced by the graphics which with auto generation (Dragon Age scenes can be changed by just changing the characters) would obviously lead to all possibilities, but then you are starting to ramp up the complexity of the game creation rather than the game. Maybe one day we'll be able to play Sexy Dreams 4 3D with your own custom created character. SD3 is as good as it gets right now.

Relax everyone and have patience. Take a trip back with me to 1985, Mario bros. has just hit states side and is all the rage. You all remember how timid and "kiddy" those games were from the 80's? Move ahead to the 90's and you got games like resident evil, grand theft auto and conquer bad fur day. These games were large steps from the decade ahead as far as adult themes being present. Now look at the games in the last 10 years, The Godfather part 2 alone has girls with nipples out in strip clubs. There are games where you can pay for sex with hookers and have orgies with multiple partners in games like Fable 3.

Just give society a little time. Games have made leaps and bounds as far as having "adult" themes in them. Within 20 years I can garuntee some one will eventually pull the trigger and release something with an adult rating to the mass public.

As far as recommending a game I would say check out Playboy: The Mansion. I have it on the xbox and it was pretty hot the first time I played it. Has a story mode, nipples, and simulated sex. It plays like the sims but w/o having to do the boring things like eat, shower, etc. the characters get completely nude (cept for undies) and basically what looks like dry hump. But hey, like I said it's not to bad, has a story mode too.

Just give em time. Some one will break the mold eventually. Cheers!

EDIT- Ha! Almost forgot to mention games like Dragon Age(mentioned above) and Mass Effect have sex scenes which are almost pornographic, so close lol. Here's an example. Enjoy.

Nobody mentioned 7 Sins yet?

I found it very entertaining, although it was more like "American Pie" than "Deep Throat", if you know what I mean...

The closest I can think of "having it all" would be Masq: no interactive sex, but tons of "adult" situations and huge replay value. And it's free!

The Sims2 with the sexysims2 mods is quite erotic, although some animations are awkward to say the least (the blowjob is actually the "throwing-up").

Anyway, I don't understand why the adult games market is so under-developed. I don't want to exploit the "violence is worse than sex" argument, but the internet is full of porn sites, why don't software houses think they can make some money out of it?

Sorry, but I don't agree... Softporn Adventure came out in 1981 and sold 25,000 copies, not including pirated copies (and there where 100,000 Apple II in the entire US!)

Leisure Suit Larry came out in 1987 and it went on to become probably the most famous PC game in the late '80 / early '90. Then, Larry dies and no software house was brave enough to take its place. There MUST be a reason...

I was just thinking, I have not played it in a long time but sega came out with a game called "Night Trap" that was good. Ans also "
Roommate: Inoue Ryoko" seem good, but I never played it.

Personally, I wouldn't describe the LSL series as adult or explicit. However, there have actually been two more recent Leisure Suit Larry games (2004 & 2008), neither of which were very successful. Or good.

The other point to take into consideration is that Softporn came out before the ESRB was created. It was partly the furore over Night Trap that made the games industry choose self-censorship.

These days an Adults Only rating is the kiss of death, since most retailers in the US won't carry AO-rated games. On top of that, the American market is very sensitive to portrayals of sex, especially in computer games. You probably remember the controversy that Mass Effect's brief moment of side boob created (manufactured by conservative bloggers and Fox News admittedly).

Consequently, there is no way on Earth that any major games company would invest significantly in an explicit adult game, because the chance of them getting that money back would be virtually nil.
