Sad news indeed for us that remain.
Arnulf, my friend, you are missed.
But your memory will always stay with those that have had the luck to know you. Your kindness, your help you spread in the lagoon, your humour, the pictures of easter eggs that you posted here year by year, the english translations of all those funny Morgenstern poems that brought a touch of literary nonsense to the lagoon, your creative ideas for board games that always were intellectually challenging, your translations of a number of Shark's and Pusooy's games, your famous walkthrough videos that many more than would ever admit depend on, and of course your great contributions and fan extensions to the ArianeB game that made that game much more popular than it would have been without your work and inspired so many others. It is not by chance that Ariane has taken a year of absence: she is mourning the loss of a good and close friend.
I had the pleasure to work with you in 2009 on the last big fan extension of the Ariane game, the UP17. We exchanged hundreds and hundreds of messages and emails, developed numerous ideas, threw a big amount of them to the side, postponed others that are now never going to see the light of the sun, and implemented quite a few of those.
Arnulf the Giant, the lagoon without you is not the same.
Rest in peace, my friend, you will be remembered.

Inspired by the poem "The Moonsheep" (by Christian Morgenstern)
The Giant sat under the moon
Watched silently the calm lagoon
The Giant.
The Giant smoked his pipe and then
Turned leisurely back to his Pen.
The Giant
Asleep, the Giant dreamt he was
The Universal Final Cause.
The Giant.
...
Morning came. The Giant dead.
His corps was white, the Sun was red.
The Giant.
