boring but easy would be the weekend has passed and they had to go home. This would be why get home. but its a long way home...
a flat tire, crashed motor, a hitchhiker could happen to one of the two cars.

RoRi's comments would work. May I suggest a female motorist with a flat. The younger male (these two have been enticing each other since they left and are speeding to get home where they can get some relief) stops to aid her. While he changes the tire the two women become entangled... a gentleman is always willing to assist a Lady or two.
Maybe Mom and her male meet up with the three young people after the tire has been changed. Is she willing to allow her male to participate? Is she willing to join? Does a pedestrian happen upon them? A male very well endowed.

I wonder what happened that caused mom to say something that really pissed Danny off. I can't tell if Becky is angry or about to cry. I do know they are leaving for home right away. Now let's see if they meet anyone on the way. But in his state of mind Danny probably wouldn't even notice a young girl in distress. That's the way boys are. They get mad for some small reason and miss all the nice things going on around them.

This male no matter how upset will stop to assist a Lady unless I am in-route to a more pressing engagement (work, etc). That young woman might override my need to please my employer. My suggestion involved many people at the same time Ms Jane. If to difficult to write you (always) have full edit authority. You turn out more than your fair share already and for that I am grateful.

I think, her face isn't very important, because we cannot see much of it. It's more her outfit and her body (and naturally the car).
