If I understand you correctly all you needed to do was highlight the link you offered and then use the "Img" button at the top of your edit textbox.
eg IMG link /IMG ----- syntax is deliberately not truly correct.

It was not possible to determine the dimensions of the image.

I use the img/img thing... put the address above in it, and get the message below it. And, as you can see, I do not have the ability to post attachments (which, I assume, is why I am having problems attaching pics). Is it me? (so you know, the img is a 425X323 jpeg)

Stop trying to use an html file for an image. Instead, use the actual address to the image. In this case, what's in the "Direct link:" box.

I have no idea what you attempted to do but I have a test Board on my home machine where I have created a user who is a novice (pilot fish) and 'he' can do just as I stated.

Now, I am sure that if you can see the "Img" button at the top of your editorial window then you have the permission to use it successfully.

It merely needed you to highlight that link and press the "Img" button and then you should have seen:

except that I put in "**" to corrupt the link so that it displayed as I 'required'.
