As you clearly must know, Brain, when water is too realistic you cannot see what is under it properly, so sometimes a bit of fakery is called for -- I didn't think it looked too bad in the circumstances.

I am a fan... of your work. So you need only use your imagination and create what comes to your mind's eye (Of course, there are variations of the spelling of the verb "to come" which could influence the direction your drawings take... 8-)... ).
