Id like to present a game that I've been working on and off for awhile now (in between some major lifestyle hurdles) its now ready for a 0.1 Beta/Demo release. Made for Rags 2.4.16.

Chimera is a modern life simulation, with some similarity to Unfaithful.

Currently there are 6 scenes, 2 will happen automatically, 3 more based on relationships with the characters in question and a further one as a negative consequence, plus a few sexual occurrences which Im not classing as scenes.

This has stat building involved as well as relationship building, and the mechanics are malleable at this point as the game develops I am looking at possibly altering the perception of things.

The stats DO matter, every stat has a purpose and a way to be increased, some things will improve things better than another. The mind control element is only just being touched on in this version and you may notice it, but it is subtle. A few examples of stats having a purpose, Intelligence will affect the rate of which you learn, Endurance will effect your staying power during sex scenes, a low endurance may have you cumming in your pants.

I plan to add a lot more to the game, and the plotline is only just starting, you could compare this to a prologue of a book. The plotline ends after the first week but you can continue playing, the above scenes occur after the plotline. Characters involved are Lily and Simone, the negative one involves Ava and Holly.

A fair warning this game does have sound, not excessive and relatable to whats going on in the game, to that end I would suggest playing with headphones, or at least not in public especially after creating your character. There is video as well in a couple of places (view porn on your laptop to test).

While I do believe the bugs are squashed there may be a few that have crept in, I have not gone through and formatted everything perfectly (colour coded speech for example) if you come across anything game breaking, doesnt appear to be right or if the text changes colour on you outside of talking let me know.

Well guess I should give a few key moments as to what has lead me here, lets see, lets see.

I am a regular guy whose life up to this point has been fairly ordinary. I would say very normal except for the one "flaw" the thing that your very conscious about and has driven my social life, or lack thereof since puberty. Yes my penis, its so small that you cant bring myself to be exposed in any situation. I have avoided sports, parties and anything that might expose my tiny pecker.

You could say its ruined my life. However with your help I'm determined now to change things, following my late fathers advice we are going to become rich. Money talks and as he said "Ladies will love me as long as I'm rich and nice."

Ohh yeah I should mention that both my parents and sister died last year in a car accident in which I was the only survivor. The insurance company has been stalling ever since, forcing me to drop out of college and move here to find work. I found a room available at a reasonable rate and so long as I find some source of income I should be ok, I'm to meet a lady named Ava at this address who is to be my new landlady.

Fortunately for me an old friend who apparently runs a business here and has offered me a job I just have to turn up Monday morning. However he has not filled me in on any details.

Well guess its time to get settled in.

So I guess key points are, you play as a male, Im a guy, I prefer playing and writing as if I am the character. There is transform (changing male appearance, not gender, you can probably guess how based on the intro), Currently very subtle corruption elements, the plan is to add more overt and covert methods of MC and other psi, at this stage your character isnt aware of them. While there is a handful of characters, the cast list I have down to be implemented totals 48 with a bunch more "possibles". Topics to include but not limited to Bondage, Corruption, Incest, Mind Control, Voyeurism.

Version 1.4: Minor update changing the Rags version to 2.4.16 due to a bug in later versions. Not bug tested properly but should be in a playable state, I want to get this out and get some feedback on bugs if any (If you get a CT:blah blah blah error, please be specific as that will pinpoint where I need to look) as a lot didnt appear to port over correctly, while I think I have got the majority, I will not be surprised if I missed some.

Changelog:
Reformatted images from png to jpg, audio files to mp3. This effectively cut the file size down 60%.
New Event and Scene with Dillion - 4 different paths to take, 1 negative and three others that will each take a different course in how the world is shaped. (5 if you count dying though that should not be possible in this version). These are in the early stage of development
Combat added, basic at the moment because while I aim to make it more advanced my test game broke to an unrecoverable state, have to rebuild it. Currently this is tied to Dillions event.
Revamped training, now daily drop is fairer but constant. To compensate the gain from training is higher.
Rent added.

0.14c Has a number of bug fixes, should hopefully be the last one on this version then I can actually add content as oppose to fumigation.

Reported bugs unable to replicate:
Last version relationship with Ava and Holly not improving when both are in the same room (Watching TV, Eating.) This works in my testing, maybe I accidentally squashed this, but please report anything weird with them. If possible a save game may be helpful.

Game looks promising but I'm am unable to advance or trigger any events. I got one time dream sequence but after restoring from save it was gone.

The next event comes a couple of days after that dream sequence. The other events can be triggered after that if you have the right conditions.

I have been discussing it over at Hyponopics and others are ok on that front. But needed to give a few tips for people to figure out. Lily and Simone are the two characters who you can have sex with, there is another scene from the cafe if you dont have money and rack up a tab that you cannot pay on payday. That leads to a scene that could be seen as rape, its supposed to be a "you screwed up here is your punishment" kinda deal. Lily you gotta have above 4 perception and agility, and go to work at 8, I put a 10% chance on a scene starting there, Im going to remove the random part as really its a rags game people can simply save scrum out of randomness.

I also have a whole lot of other changes I am implementing based on feedback in addition to new content for 0.2. That comes after I convert this over to either Rags 2.4.16 or maybe even look to shifting to RenPy, Ive found some problems with 3.0.59 that are forcing a change, 1 being the filesize, some of the audio included had files far bigger than they needed to be as they were aif. I converted them to mp3 cutting the size considerably but the game size doesnt change when you remove media meaning its still embeded in the games code somehow. So a choice to redo over now in the early stage or continue with an obese game.

Gives a chance to improve a few mechanics in the process.

I tried the game and I liked it a lot! I didn't get any major scene I think, but still, the small "teasing scenes" were very nice. I 've never been able to reach enter the cafe, is this a bug? or still not implemented?
Anyway, I found the stats system being a major flaw to the game, I mean, is nice in the description and having check stats is cool but when you actually play it turns out as a major grinding feast.. definitely something I'm not interested in.

That and the relationship scores with Ava and Holly falling with all the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. stats, you may want to tell people how many points they have left to allocate (18?).

For version 0.2 Im overhauling the SPECIAL system. It wasnt working as intended, also picked out a bug with the different versions of Rags I have reconfigured it for 2.4.16. The 3.?? versions were retaining data I had removed, it was a joke where I removed everything so the game was blank and it still kept the filesize of 320mb. This means I had to remake it in 2.4.16, this was primarily to change the media format from large audio files to smaller mp3 versions, same length and quality for 10% of the disk space. Added more content and new version so far is 50mb less.

With the stats they were dropping wrong, because I had a hidden training points stat which actually increases and decreases based on activity. When you didnt do something during a day it would drop this hidden stat. The problem was while I was dropping 1 point from this if you had 1 in a stat or 10 if you had 10. The actual range of the stat meant it was dropping 25% at level 1 and under 2% at level 10. The revamped version works more evenly across the fields and drops regardless at night. Training gains are increased to compensate, but the sting of the loss is actually less at lower leveled stats and more at higher as its working based on a % rather than absolutes. This effectively means low levels will raise quickly but high levels will take work as intended.

You can see your progress by clicking the player portrait and examining, it should give you a % towards next level.

The relationship scores should not be dropping unless you do something negative towards them, this could be flirting before they are ready for that, flirting with the other in front of them when they are interested, Cooking for them and being a lousy cook. I have had reports about it dropping during other things (watching TV) but I have not been able to replicate.

If you do experience this can you tell me your SPECIAL stats levels.

As for the cafe, 10am-4pm weekdays. If you cannot get in there at those times (and you didnt do something to get yourself barred like not pay the bill) please let me know what rags version you are running and what the game is telling you when you try to get in there.

With the next version it is going to be 2% daily. The current uploaded one is working at 25% for low levels and 1% at high levels due to bad math on my part. Current one only drops if you dont train a stat.

So where it currently drops you from 3-1 in a couple of days it will now take 36. Its training them up which will be harder at the highest levels. I may need to up this drop % but balancing it so it is possible to eventually get to 10 if you worked hard.

For example say you had 9 across the board in all stats, each hour training strength at the gym would get you 6 points, a daily drop at 2% while in the 9's is 10-20 points, so looking at maintenance of 2-4 hours at the gym per day to make gains towards 10. Which is reflective of how a pro-sports athlete has to train to stay at the top of their game. I do admit that this is using "weight training" at the gym as a baseline and I intend to add a higher level of training to be available down the line.

That said the next version is some time off, had to redo it for rags 2.4.16 as a bug in v3+ meant the game was larger in size than the actual game was (it was keeping file size even with all media removed) just doing that shaved 50mb of the games size. Ive done the tweaks I wanted to do based on feedback, added a fight scene and script, with which I managed to break Rags when adding some elements to the test I was doing, so not as in depth as I intend the final one to be but sufficient for current elements, added a new non-sexual scene which has 3 possible outcomes, 4 if you include dying as an outcome. This will also lead to different play elements. Got a bunch more to be added in. Its just finding the time and now daughters back at school I am getting that time.

Won't open, RAGS player(2.4.16) says "Sorry, this RAGS game file is unreadable".


Edit: Downloaded it again, this time from Mega and now it works. Don't know what went wrong first time.

I get so many error messages. When I watched porn on my laptop, the game gets stuck and won't do anything afterwards.

Is there a list somewhere of the scenes and what you need to get them? I'd hate to play for hours and sour myself on the game while it's still in an alpha state.

Any update on this?
