Well I'm still new to AIF and RAGS games so I just thought the biggest ones were the ones with most gameplay. I enjoy the small puzzles, the searches and the multiple endings though so I'm trying a lot of them.
Thanks for your help and many thanks for creating this thread it opened a new world to me

Brutalix, excuse me, you are right, and the only way to know a game is to play it.
I did, but there were so much movements without meaning, and the map was so unreadable, that I give up. In my opinion he should at least zip the map with the game, so you can print it and know where you are.
This game should be better in Adrift than in Rags, in my opinion. Adrift can be played this way, but Rags needs more direct options, descrïptions and so on. But even in Adrift a so big map should be difficult to manage, perhaps.
Even the author says it is his first game in Rags, and I think he was too much ambitious. To really finish a game like this he will need several months, perhaps years...

Typically games are initially released on the Hypnopics Collective or tfgamessite as beta or alpha versions, and the author then produces more complete versions based on the reception, bug reports, and suggestions that the game receives from the members of the forum.

Sometimes that eventually results in a complete game. A lot of times it doesn't, or the author moves on to some other project (which I believe is what happened with Xiriel and Jandarrow).

As for the authoring system, RAGS is the first choice on the Hypnopics Collective because there are a couple of RAGS gurus on the forum who can offer assistance when needed, not to mention that Hypnopics is also a photomanipulation forum so the ability to include pictures is a big plus.

If you do have constructive feedback about any game, I'd recommend sending it to the author if possible. Otherwise it's very unlikely they will ever see it.

ExLibris,
Sharks RagsGamesForum is now in Google in a Rags Games search. Ok, in page 4 only till now. So other people can reach it quite easily. This is also the reason of the topic tittle I choose. We got till now more than 12'000 views of this topic in less of ten days.
Typically, the idea of creating this sub-forum in Sharks, was to make people acquainted with the engine, and in the meanings of the possible to make them look at the software as a amazing new way to make games in an affordable structure.
I think that hypnopics site and forum are clearly influenced by hypnopics tendency, that I respect but don't share, and inside its forum, as you just notice, have all the people to analyze, feedback and so on.
I perfectly agree with you that some games actually in discussion in this Forum, like the Cahotics ones or even the Tads SD3 of Golinbloy should have perhaps quickest solution in Rags, but I respect the tendencies of each author.
The excellent work of psycho72 that maintains in 4shared a complete survey of affordable Rags games of all sites, in its last version (even the Yads game is in now):
http://www.4shared.com/dir/22599015/1c6 ... aring.html
was a wonderful participation, and avoid the need of Shark members to investigate in other sites.
So I think, let's stay here, and the people will come this forum, after a small search.
But I am open to any critics, and highly respect your opinion.

I am not favorable to the creation of a specific sub-forum for speaking about rags. But why not a new sub-forum for the games creators (tools, new works submission, help wanted...)
What about ?

I got so carried away with the rags games that I decited that I went ahead and bought a key for the rags designer thingy. I decited that it would be a good idea to try and make games. I am a complete noob at this, I have never tried anything like this ever before so bacicly what I want to do at least in the beginning is to make simple story driven games and hopefully I will learn how to do this properly and make more advanced games in time. ( edited to avoid misunderstandings) Sometime in the future I hope that I actually get to finish this and can share them with you.

The first idea I got is a about a clueless chump that going to visit his relatives in the big city, and the story itself is going down on the train he need to take to get there. Here is where I need your help.
I need pictures of girls inside trains. I am not talking about those japanese commute train series, I am looking for pictures of girls in regular trains. trains that got sitting cars, sitting compartments, restaurant and sleeping compartments.

I am searching for girls with neutral background that I can throw in in just about any setting. However as the game is story driven, I need series of the same girl loosing clothes gradually.

I am have been searching through the archives at torrentleech and bbporn and downloaded over 75 000 pictures. and I need more. I need tons more. For future projects I need theme sets and neautral sets. specially theme sets can trigger ideas, as I am fairly creative. I a searching for softcore pictures where girls get naked is the main idea, and needless to say I want all the models to be over 18 years old and unless they are extremly hot I want them to be under 40ish years. apart from that I got no preferences.

If any of you guys got any references or know where I can get sets please pm me, as I don't think links to the resources are welcome here in this forum.

Shark,
To get creators of games in a specific engine, first you must get information on it, and what can be done. And the best way is to inform on games or experiments already done with the specific software.
This is the only objective of this topic.
...
The Yads game in Rags, "Yet Another Dating Sim", first published in this Forum, in the "All sexy games" division, is getting what you mention, help, code discussion, etc., and somewhere the game will go, a finish phase or not, I don't know.
...
I suppose that each game in Rags, or any other engine, like Adrift, Tads, or just html, java or flash coding, etc., motivated or not by a sub-forum, needs a specific topic for development as Yads game has, and as the submission of Tjommi supposes.
...
But if I understand what you say, and the idea is to make a division in the Forum index for "Sexy games creators", decision that only you can take, it will be a wonderful site to just put ideas, like the one of Tjommi, for instance, or submit games for beta testing, help, etc.
...
I have no problem in stop participating in this topic, and if the others do the same, it will go down! As you wish... if you want me to do so, I will! It's your site.We like to participate, but your advice as administrator has more weight, and I respect it.
...
A propos, bonne et heureuse...

It was just a proposal in the aim to separate the topics about existing games and the topics about creation.
As a creator, I am interested by all informations and I am happy to read topics like this one on the forum.

Hi!

@Tjommi: Picture of girls inside trains? And you already have 75000? Sorry but I haven't got any, and if I try searching, most probably I'll stumble on the same you have.

@almeida67: I think your original idea was good by two reasons, the first one being to avoid promiscuity with the YADS game thread, and second for making people get acquainted with a powerful engine named RAGS. I play with it for about 4 years now, and find it the best for combining text (good one) and images, that is to say, true modern IF.

One thing that I don't understand very well in your last post is the reference to beta testing. If it's for the creators asking for volunteers for beta-testing games, I fully agree. If your idea is publishing a game for the "crowd" to beta-test it, I disagree completely, as I disagree with the methods used in Hypnopics and Transformers. In my opinion beta-testing should always be private, and a game should only be published when completed.

@shark: You don't need my approval, but I fully agree with the creation of such a sub-forum for existing creators and others to be.
Off-topic (still to shark): Take a look at http://sharks-lagoon.aceboard.fr/215394 ... ammers.htm

Thanks for attention!

Almeida, I think you might have misunderstood me.

You made some comments about a particular RAGS game, so I tried to provide some information about why that game was incomplete. I was not suggesting that the discussion on this thread be moved elsewhere.

I'm all in favour of constructive criticism, but if it never reaches the author it helps no one. That's why I always suggest sending feedback directly to the author if possible.

@Tjommi
Unfortunately you've come across one of the drawbacks of using RAGS; unless you have the expertise to create your own pictures you're restricted by having to find pictures that are more or less what you want.

I know that RAGS can handle layers. Would it be possible to find images of train interiors and then superimpose images of the model on top of that? I know it wouldn't look as natural but it might be easier.

@Trucla
Open beta-testing has both pros and cons. The AIF community places a strong emphasis on thorough closed beta testing, with the result that only two major games have been released in the last couple of years. On the other hand, members of Hypnopics have released probably a dozen games in the same time period. The majority of them were incomplete and/or buggy, but people enjoyed playing them anyway and gave encouragement to the authors.

I personally favour closed beta testing, but I can see why some authors would choose to release incomplete games.

I see your point, but as I value quality over quantity...
